I agree with you that Titan Ex is the hardest of the 3 Primals but THIS is not true

First time we beat it actually was a 7 man essentially since the other dps died very early on. It is not a DPS heavy fight in any way, survive and you win. I rather enjoy the fight compared to Garuda and about on par with Ifrit.
I love Titan just don't like the party's lol. A lot of people want you at ili85 for it. Same for garuda, I managed to down her with ili75 as a tank now I'm gonna be 77 after another piece so I'm gonna keep hitting Titan, and your hp doesn't drop that fast only on one attack does it really give you a wallop otherwise he hits like girl
TBH, I have found that running 2 WHM make this fight a bit easier Since 2.1 Cure3 buff. basicaly every time Titan jump have WHM pre-cast Cure3 so that it goes off right after he come down from Geocrush, this will instant top off everybody in your party. samething with stump 1 Cure 3 from each WHM with good timing will completely heal every after stump.
I think it's a fun fight but if you lag even the slightest you're done. Tried to dodge double plumes after heart phase last night, was standing in the same spots as everyone else, I get nailed with 4x plume damage. -.-
It's not that Titan ex is too hard, it's that one little mistake can snowball in Titan.
It's a fun fight, once you get the "feel" for it then it gets mechanical like Titan HM.
From a healers POV its pretty easy to clear with an organized group once you get a feel for his rotation.Recently I've just been queuing for it in DF for some practice and have noticed a number of things.
1) The fight not being a dps race is only half true. There are two points in the fight that will wipe your party without enough dps.
A) End of heart phase.
If your team does not kill heart fast enough you will get a majority /the whole rotation of:
Bombs -> Landslide -> STOMPs -> WoTL -> Geocrush.
If it gets to that point then odds are the groups experience with the fight / gear is lacking and someone is going to eat something and die to geocrush.
B) The whole post heart phase.
Unless your group is geared to the brim (ilvl 85+) , having one dps down during post heart pretty much ensures you will hit titan's enrage upheavel.
2) People can't dodge/ don't understand how to dodge casting / "red circle" abilities.
You would think people would know by now but some players just don't understand that you DO NOT need to wait for animations to complete before moving back to the affected area.
As soon as you see titan's cast bar completing you should be moving and be in the appropriate safe position by the time the animation ends.
Players who constantly die to the double X ( not sure what to call them) bombs + landslide during egis are the ones who do not still understand this and will cause you to wipe to the enrage. Unless they under are heavily carried. It is unlikely they will ever clear the fight.
Protip 1: You should always focus target titan ( healers specically ) to see when his casts complete.
Protip 2: If you are unsure, it is ALWAYS better to eat a bomb then getting hit by landslide.
The problem with Titan EX is less its complexity and more the fact that the fight does not take into account it is being done over an internet connection. A healthy internet connection can and does have small bumps in latency, and it doesn't take much to die to weight of the land. It just takes one guy to get blown up and suddenly healers have a distraction on their hands on top of trying to keep everyone alive. Also, for most groups doing Titan EX, the loss of a single member DOES constitute a wipe. Unless your members have found a way to use a dps meter safely and are decked in some seriously high end stuff, 7 manning superbombs is going to be rather difficult without a limit break available (which is generally used on adds). They need to increase the cast time on Weight of land slightly to compensate.
