It's certainly not impossible that I'm just "lucky", but I truly, honestly don't see it much. I certainly never do it and the people I party with (usually) don't. I have seen it a few times, don't get me wrong. But it's not every match or anywhere close to it. But my main point before we got so sidetracked is that PvP is still quite alive and well and if someone is getting ridiculous queue times, there is probably some other reason than "ppl aren't doing it because this or that is broken." Because if everyone was getting 30 minute queue times, I definitely would not have been able to play as many matches as I said in my post. The jumping thing is definitely a major issue to address, but it hasn't stopped people from playing it as far as I can tell. Maybe my server group just has more PvP fans? I don't have the explanation there.Quote:

Yeah I tried queuing solo on my war last night to have a quick round, forgot about it and an hour later when I went to q for a dungeon it was still finding party with an indefinite average wait time. Figured it was because my rank is so low (4) and that everyone who was interested in pvp was too ranked up to fight.

It's a very easy thing to assume "there ix XYZ issue therefore people aren't playing." But the answer is rarely so simple. there could be many factors. I have, on rare occasion, had to wait a very long time. But when it gets long, I usually re-queue and get a party soon after. I think the queue may get glitched out or something.
I'm sure there are "SOME" people who are avoiding it because of issues both real and percieved. But there are also "some" people who aren't phazed by this and will keep playng anyway. It's a stretch to peg the issue of one person complaining of long queue times on any one thing. That's why I declared it false ("Unlikely" would have been a better thing to say.), because there is a strong possibility of other things at work here:Quote:

2) Glitch with the DF queue (I have observed cases where my friends are playing matches left and right while I seem to be waiting much longer)
3) Lack of people playing a particular role (As can happen with any DF queue)

Depending on your circumstances you could experience any or none of these.
However, one thing everyone seems to have missed: Excalibur is in the same group as Hyperion. So 4) is not likely to be the issue because I am playing with the same group of people that the OP is. Thus my questioning earlier is still valid. I am rank 19 and have played matches at almost all hours of the day (except between around 4:30am and 11 am). -

I love this game. I really do. I just dropped $30 on two more months. We're trying to do more PvP right now, and we've just been waiting for 30 minutes or more.
I want the game to be better. I'm all for being patient, but we're paying $10-15 a month to keep an active subscription, and then just to sit around for 45 minutes or more for 1 PvP match that lasts 2 minutes at the very most is kind of ridiculous. No, it doesn't always take this long to get into a match, but it does take this long the majority of the time for us.
If the Duty Finder was opened up to all data centers, there would be much less wait time in general for content. I want to play the game, not sit here for an hour.
Also, why do we have to wait so long for a fix on a serious issue? This jumping thing. Don't wait 2-3 weeks to do a maintenance. Do a hotfix immediately that disables jumping in PvP. -

Are you queuing as 2 DPS (if you don't have a tank or healer you will be waiting longer just like any other queue)? Is there a great difference in rank between the two of you (this seems to be a very minor factor though as obvious rank differences are often visible)? are you trying to play at odd hours? There is likely an explanation other than "not as many people playing." I sympathize with your frustration, I really do. there are ways to help yourself along though:Quote:

1) If you're doing lv30 or lv50, try doing lv40 instead. The reason for it is unfortunate, but you will get matches faster. Also, try queuing for all 3 tiers. If you just want to play, this is a good way to speed up queue times.
2) Make sure Join in Progress is NOT checked, no PvP match ever lasts long enough for a disconnected/lost player to get replaced.
3) Make sure all languages are checked.
4) as mentioned before, queue with a tank or healer. (If PvP did not force team comps though and just matched anybody like it did in beta, matching would be almost instant for everybody)
5) This is just my experience but you will get faster queue times if you queue either alone, as a threesome, or as a premade party in lv40 cap (don't do premade lv50 unless you think you are really good, because the competition will be a lot tougher!) Again, this is an unfortunate side effect of the way people are currently behaving to maximize their XP/Mark earnings, but it will help you queue faster.
The simple fix (and it's probably not even that simple to do that because I doubt they set up the relevant code to be hooked into by other things to disable it) isn't always the best fix. Technically speaking jumping slows you down and thus it should be disadvantageous to jump. The jumping making you harder to hit is a *bug* properly and it is better that they fix the bug rather than bludgeon the issue with a sledgehammer by disabling it.Quote:

Again, this isn't true. As I said several times, I haven't had long queue times. The people are out there. Between a dozen servers there is enough peope to play PvP. I could not have played 600+ matches in 2 weeks if "not that many people" wanted to do it. SE would have to give us the numbers but they estimated a 15% participation rate. It feels like it ended up being higher than that. More often than not I get a match within a minute or two. The Original Poster is on the same server group as me. The issue here does not appear to have anything to do with the number of people participating.Quote:

Now I'll admit I've used them sometimes myself, but weasel words are being used way too much on this forum these days. "lots" "not many" "several" and other vague number-words mean little without context.

Why? Well, I'm someone that did tons of PvP in WoW, SWTOR, and lots of MOBA stuff. I rather enjoy PvP. However, the PvP in this game is limited to a 4v4 arena deathmatch mode and has little real point to it. That's why I choose not to even bother in this game. -
