Playstation 3 Release date?

As things currently stand, I wouldn't count on a PS3 version being released at all. Check again in a couple months.

As things currently stand there is a much higher chance of it being released then being scrapped.

1) They are still developing it... if they scraped the project why are they still spending money on it

2) The Statement Wada made stated fixing this game was a focus that it would just take more time. (Source: SE online Statement may 13, 2011.. they actually said they will not focus more on the online market until the game is fixed)

3) Every time the devs mention ps3, they have said they have a team on it. (multiple different interviews)

4) Devs stated the game was just in optimization stages last December. Reason was given why it has not been released yet. (Final Interview with Tanaka)


With all this chances with it not be release is about as likely as GW2 never being released. Sure they say it is going to be released... but they refuse to give a date. Whether or not if it is successful is another question and depends on what the dev team does.

Have to remember over 60% of the old FFXI playerbase has not even been introduced to the game, and over 90% of the FF fan base as well.

Why would they not release it... the box sales alone would bring them in a huge chunk of change... They would lose money by not releasing it, even if it did fail.

Perhaps these threads could be stopped by a simple reply from a dev stating "We spoke to Yoshi P and rest assured the PS3 version is still being worked on with a targeted release for Q1 2013"

not canceled. ps3 release won't be announced till they feel the PC version is 100%.

All you're gonna get outta them is that it's still in development. There is no release date because there is no release date for this game being good.

i cant wait we need more people on my server! plus i hope the ps3 comes out after i get most of my crafts to around r40. almost there though
