I still do it but what the real kicker is sitting around waiting for it to spawn, have it spawn and do it but then not get credit because the item doesn't go into the quest item bag but instead goes into your real bag which is full. Had this happen 3 times now.....

This is why you bail out on the sylphs and go help the amal'ja as soon as you can instead.

As others have already said, you can get the item without having the quest active. Also, you can't stockpile them... It's unique :( However, if you have a friendly FC it's easier, just let members who are in the area know to give you a shout out if the Fate's up. You'll still have to hurry to get there if a lot of people are after it but it's not too hard to get credit once you're there. Hope that helps.

I'll do it if it's there while doing the other quests, if not I'll skip it

After playing the waiting game again and again i lost interest and abandoned the quest. I'll stick to the other beast tribe i think.

Once. Never again. Everytime I get it I only complete two dailies. Now, with the second rank of both factions, if I get that Fate quest it just means one extra quest for the other faction.
-
I do it every time I have it. Never takes more than 20 minutes for it to pop, to date for me anyway, and I can always watch some Netflix on my second monitor while I wait. Not like I'm in a hurry.
-
I only got it once before hitting rank 2.
Never have to do it again.

I've done this fate 4 times now and twice I arrived to the spawn mere seconds after it was defeated. Both of those times I waited between 30 and 40 minutes before it respawned. Since these fates were patched I dont believe you should have to wait any longer than 45 minutes at the longest.
