Please remove gear advantages in PVP

I don't see a cycle of competitiveness in PvP when the community starts asking for balance and blah blah blah.

All I ask for is RAW competativeness because PvP should about who is better. Either skill-wise or gear-wise.

It's the holidays, I think I'll sit this one out and observe, spectate and /cheer on the winners of this argument.
*Ask SE to allow food to compensate for short comings but it's un-sportsman-like to blame someone's gear and their added abilities,lol! (makes you look like a sore looser)

And what happens when you find someone with better gear and equal skill? Or even better gear and slightly less skill? Or far superior gear and far less skill?

The objective in PvE is beating scripted enemies. The objective in PvP is beating players, and skill should be the operative guiding factor.

I'd rather casuals who require gear to be carried stick to PvE and leave PvP to competitive players who do not require gear to faceroll people as an incentive.

You fight and try to win. If you lose, you carry on winning the other 70% and you gear out.

So the objective is to lose on the basis of gear and not skill, in order to get gear? And then with the gear you can win some matches you would otherwise have lost (not an attack on you personally, everyone gets outplayed sometimes)? I don't think it should take such an investment to be competitive. The best competitive games in the world all have zero initial investment. A complete beginner can beat the top player in the world if they outplay them. In gear-based PvP, a complete beginner would struggle against even a moderately geared (abilities being counted as part of gear) person even if they outplay them by a significant margin. It promotes time invested and seniority over talent.

This is Final Fantasy not some esport game if you want that kinda competition you're in the wrong place. Just be grateful we even got pvp and wait for them to make adjustments. But, asking to remove gear because you're lazy/casual is silly.

If I wanted to play a game that didn't require time investment I wouldn't play an MMO. You are confused. Go play League of Legends or something...my god.

It saddens me that casual non-pvpers always ruin MMO PvP :( it has such potential!

im posting here because it seems the gear equalization or bolster crowd is bullying those who support a gear progression system

first of all, let me say i think theyve done a really good job making pvp fun here , the gameplay is very fun, in my opinion --- I like it a lot !!!

i think its those asking for bolster who are insulting those who disagree with them, calling them bad, all gear no skill, who cant play any other games

let me say without bragging, that i love pvp game, and i can be competetive in any game im choosing to play, whether its an rts like sc, fps like cs, or mmo

and i enjoy RPG since i started gaming because i like building up my character. playing to earn reward and becoming more powerful.
