i70 PvP Gear Vs Myth/Allagan Gear

Mix / Match, depending on class. The PvE gear's output is higher damage if it's PvE gear vs PvE gear. The PvP gear gives an advantage over PvE geared players due to increasing both Offense and Defense. Basically the 70 gear is superior but some classes like mine for example, can get away with a few PvE pieces for extra damage.

Thanks everyone, I was asking cause I didn't wanna waste points since I had (Spent them) around 18k so I bought a bunch of the i70 and for some silly reason I bought the i90 bow in advance. Should have gotten more pieces of i70 =p

yeah as a dragoon ive noticed i dont really get targeted much in pvp. sleep? definitely. but ive never really been the first one they target. that is why im more interested in maxing my dps, be it through pvp or pve gear.

yes. in lv50 battles, your armor essentially all has a defense of 0. Morale is the source of reducing damage taken, and it also buffs damage. Not as much as it boosts defense but that's because of main stat, determination etc still playing a role.

Morale is only present in lv. 50 PvP, so you can do 30 or 40 to build up your points and then do 50 with some gear. In 50 though morale replaces stats so PvP gear is much better no matter the ilevel or blow to your other stats if the gear is less damage or defense. Morale weighs really heavily in 50s.

yes, crafted gear is best than ilvl 90 pve gear... if youw ant to pvp work on that pvp gear, or you are going to get raped... ilvl 90 pvp gear vs ilvl 90 alaggan is like a armored truck raming someone naked...

still no pve piece of the same slot will give you bigger dps increase than a pvp piece, its said ilvl 55 pvp > ilvl 90 allagan... so no matter what you do all pve gear needs to go at some point...

At some point yes (I've been steadily replacing my i90 with i70 pvp), but I'm not entirely convinced that i55 is that point. That said, I think when I get home today I'm gonna get someone in my fc to make me a hq i55 wep so I can compare the numbers to what I've been seeing with my zenith, which should address my questions.

I have a question that isn't on topic but still in relation to item level, before it was based on your weapon, what is the average based on now? I always thought it was the sum of all your items divided by the number of items you have.

What about hq crafted weps versus zenith relic? Would the 20-something morale offset the loss in stats?
