I did it last night and the area is so small with so much it in almost died. I am so glad I wont have to do it anymore since it is a tier 1 Fate for Sylph and I should hit Tier 3 tonight.

Weird. Whenever I've looked for this fate it is either up or reappears within 15 minutes. Not bragging. Just wondering if there could be server differences.
I only had to wait a bit the first time I got the quest. After that, I see it pretty much everytime I go to do my daily sylphy quests. It's kind of nice that you can get the item from the fate even when you don't have the quest. Today I didn't have the quest, but I went to try to help other people doing the fate and I got a key. Now I don't have to do the fate the next time I get the quest, which is great if for some reason the fate does not show up.
If I get a FATE in a daily, I just abandon it and do one fewer that day. It's just not worth it.
I do enjoy FATEs in their intended form. I'm running around the world and somethings up so a bunch of people run in and help out. That's fun.
Sitting on a log/in a desert/in the snow because I need to wait for this random FATE to pop for some stupid quest is not fun at all. That's just a terrible idea.
As a side note, if you participate in a FATE that is being used as a beast daily sidequest when you DON'T need to do it for the daily, you can still get the completion item from it. I keep the completion items for the FATEs in my inventory. I participated in the Magitek one for the Sylphs when I saw a bunch of people doing it and I didn't need to do it for the daily and still got the Proto key. I figured "Sweet, now when I have to do the FATE I'll already have the item for it! Free daily!!"
The FATE quests never spawn for me as a daily if I have the pre-requisite item in my inventory before I get my dailies for the day. Having that item effectively blocked that quest from ever appearing for me in Sylph dailies ever again. Didn't get the FATE daily for 8 days. When I ranked up Sylph, I discarded the key. The next day I had the Magitek Menace on my list again in the 1st tier dailies. I may not have gotten a free daily, but i got something even better. No FATEs for dailies.
