Happy you guys are getting a good tanking axe finally!
Happy for the warriors finally getting a solid tanking axe with accuracy.
Really bummed about the GLA/PLD ones though, those stats are just awful... I guess i'll get them, along with some DRG/MNK jewelry and build a dps setup for when i'm tanking trivial content like HMs.
To bad the Allagan Axe is BiS, no matter what you are doing.
It's so depressing that new weapons pretty much just mean a reshuffle of secondary stats.
Could we get some secondary effects here soon, please?
Because everyone and their mother has the Allagan Battleaxe, right?
Yes, it's BiS. But if you don't HAVE it and aren't FARMING Turn 5 then you can get this weapon and not be constantly starved for accuracy at the cost of so many other stats that would be helpful. Are there seriously people out there who are just like 'Why get this? It's not BiS!'? How did those people make it through the story? Naked?
Sorry my group only gets axe drops from T5.
The point of BiS is thinking about how to gear for future. I'm not gonna get something with myth if it is just going to become useless later. You can beat T5 with +1 relic, there is no reason to get this new axe if you have the +1 relic. Your time would be better spent practicing T5.
*Swings own Allagan Battleaxe*
On a serious note. If there was a progression that put's my survivability in question I WILL downgrade that Allagan Battleaxe to Dual Harken. +1 WPN DMG +3 Str is good for threat, but very bad in the respect to mitigation. People need to get out of their head that higher ilvl = automatic better/BiS, I knew the ilvl 90 Axe was going to be good, but I was expecting Acc/Crit not Acc/Par which is the perfect stat needed by warriors.
Just as much as a time when Pentamelded Gryphonskin will fall out of grace being BiS due to harder hitting content. Allagan Battleaxe will fall out of grace being the BiS just cause it doesn't have the essential mitigation stats.
On the flip side it does seem that the alternate set for Paladin is more DPS orientated, just like how Allagan Battleaxe is for Warriors.
