The problem with CT is that after people get their 1 drop that week, they are less likely to join. If you don't run it early in the week, you will probably have very long queue times for it. If you thought 45 min queues for CM/PRAE were bad when people still ran it to farm for tome mats, wait until people dont need to run CT...
They need to do smaller lock outs. Instead of a set day, Monday, make the lock outs every 3 days per character. Like Dynamis in 11, you just rotated in with your shell, twice a week was so much better. And when you got bored with this you could add filler like Sky or Sea. That way people can go in with other jobs and get a shot at loot. Don't mess with the tome cap, just let us in more than 1 time a week. I understand the OP's frustration, I cannot begin to gear my alt SMN without screwing my WHM cause Coil aint dropping shit for me, but the excess of DRG drops is a whole nother conversation.
Its not fair to those of us that don't want to be ultra casual, which this game seems to cater to more and more. For all those white knighters yes blah blah blah new game etc etc etc..., but SE doesnt have a brand new game. By allowing the 1.0 players to retain their levels they messed up. Instead of making sure they had enough end game content for people already on end game they treated this as a new out of the box game where everyone is starts at level 1. It was a massive blunder on there part.
Sure. Lets not have any lockouts. In return, lets have no more guaranteed loots. No more 2 chests after each turn. 1 in a 100 chance of chest spawning in with 1 in 50 chance of chest having a gear/weapon drop, 49 in 50 chance of having a unique/untradeable numbered bone chip drop. Oh, and lets not have need/greed system, game drops the loot into someone's invent at random.
Sound fair?
Just because it came out years after the original release means nothing. They should have taken that experience and added it to FFXIV(no I'm not saying make FFXI-2 before the babies come crying). Right now they just prelong the very little content there is in the game by putting locks on everything, even tho it was ADVERTISED to be a game that you can play any job you liked on the same character. Their words, not mine by the way. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the problem is they focused so much on beg-mid content and didn't do much for end game. You can 1-50 in < 2 weeks, but then at 50 you have nothing to do. Most dungeons are worthless in the game because people spam FATEs, you level so fast that the gear in them means nothing.
Still not sure why it wasn't like Dynamis and Limbus, 1 week lockout is so extreme.
