I have fun when I play, usually. Endgame grind is a bit tedious, but 2.1 is almost here. Still need to get my first relic too, buuuuuuuut finals come first.

Once upon a time SE had a game called FFXIV. During its last days, they had a poll to see how many people would like the servers to remain open so that people could still log in and have fun. SE made it very clear that no progress would be saved despite the game still being available. They also went on to say that they would monitor the population on the servers and that, if it dropped below a certain threshold, the servers would be shut down for good.

Before the final save there were about 1k players on at peak times per server. It wasn't a lot, but it was a dead game and 1k people is still 1k people.

After the servers got shut down and reopened again, everything was still there, the whole game. People even had free relics to have fun with and all the content was still there to play.

On my server.. 5 people were logged in, including my girlfriend and I. 5 people, and I'm not exaggerating at all. I wish I had a screenshot. Anyway, they shut down the servers for good the following month.

I think it's a safe bet that 99.5% of the people that play MMOs play them for progression, even if they don't care to admit it or are just too blind to see it. Progression may mean different things to different people, but barely anybody plays just "for fun."

I can find other stuff to do in the game, but that still doesn't make it any less frustrating that they're creating a week long lockout on subpar gear for people who are already running Coil. There's less incentive to do something repeatedly if you don't personally benefit from it.

One of the most appealing and most boasted about features in this game is the armory system. Not to mention the fact that you are encouraged even further to use the armory system since they charge more money to make additional characters on the same server. To me that makes his argument very valid, what you're basically saying is to not use one of the biggest features in this game and to me, that is the argument that is invalid.

I think you should just quit, this game is clearly not a fun to you. (based on all your previous posts). Why do you waste time and money on something that you do not enjoy?
