It is and has always been a component of the crystal tower. One must clear the labyrinth to access Eureka and the tower.

Also, if you go to the cliff southeast of the Tangle in Mor Dhona, you can clearly see the walls of the labyrinth, as they are in the OP picture from FF3JP.

Mor Dhona, as far east as you can go then south.

What did you expect from a game that kept showing the old (and then current) battle system in 2.0 screenshots for over a year then suddenly switched to the actual system out of nowhere? Or a game that kept saying for over a year how CT would be ready for launch and suddenly took it out a month before launch? Or how relic would be an absolute requirement for CT and now it's just only iLV 50? Or how latency issues would be all resolved with the new engine?

To their credit they did say they would be adding more floors in new updates so there's that, please look forward to seeing the whole thing in 2015, better stay subbed for it!

Kind of saw this coming when i read "ancient" in the Crystal tower subtitle

It would help if you read the information on the lodestone. They explain exactly what is being released. Their not hiding or trying to fool us. This is just the entrance to the tower. More will be released.
