I wasn't.. but i'm starting to be. Honestly i would rather be rolling heals that land as the tank takes damage rather than wait for it to happen. I thought losing spellspeed over det and crit i would notice a difference but i really don't.

Only thing i would consider over the bis jewelry is crafted jewelry for vit.
I personally like having 4500 hp unbuffed.

You give up alot of mind for the hp though. A bit of piety lost too since i notice you can only meld 6 pie to ring? Compared to 12 pie of allagan ring and 8 pie of darklight ring. The det on the melded stuff is way better then the ilvl70 spell speed. But allagan jewelry has DET too.

Agreed, but i haven't gotten any coil jewelry drops yet anyway. I think i will replace a few with allagan, mainly det pieces, when they drop and end up keeping one or two crafted ones.

Melded jewelry is way better then darklight. I agree.

I have been unlucky with allagan healing accessory drops too. I have only seen 2 drop since i started coil.

People fail to understand how little of a difference a BiS determination setup vs a BiS spell speed setup really makes. From another thread I posted in...

30hp per cure is roughly the difference between relic and +1, as well as the difference between putting stats elsewhere over MND. Granted the differences here are more like 40-50hp/cure but lets do the (napkin) math.
30hp/cure
10hp/second (2.5 GCD, .5 server latency)
600hp/minute
36000hp/hour
Casting cure probably only 50% of the time: 18000hp/hour
30 minute run: 9000hp
15 minute run: 4500hp

Napkin math like mad, but 30hp/cure is roughly enough to save 1 DD's life every 15 minutes, even if you are only casting cure maybe 50% of the time. If you math out to 100% of the time, it should be roughly equivalent to benediction on CD on the average tank.

That doesn't take into account overhealing at all.

Say we have a tank at 3500/6000hp. Or 4500/6000hp that takes another 1000 in damage while you're healing.

You cure for 1000 (spell speed) or 1030 (det).

3500 + 1000 + 1000 + 1000 = 6000hp capped... 3 cures, 500 overheal
3500 + 1030 + 1030 + 1030 = 6000hp capped... 3 cures, 590 overheal

Determination does nothing for these situations. Spell speed will get you there a quarter second faster. Overheal isn't exactly rare either, so I would venture to say this is a semi-common occurrence.

That said, I'm not advocating specifically for speed. I've said before I think both are viable choices and both have their positives and negatives. The differences are small.

Won't be able to do accurate tests on det until we have someone after 2.1 with full det ilvl90. To see if det has a linear effect on healing or something. This is not the maximum det or spell speed you can achieve either. Spell speed stack may have some merit if a full det set only adds 50hp? But actully both have their advantages and disadvantages. Det has stronger timed heals,better hp per mana and higher damage per cast. Speed has quicker regens and a shorter gcd.

This isn't exact, but it's roughly

5 det = 1 mind = 1.5hp per 400 potency cure. Post above me holds to this formula rather well. This gives you a general idea of effectiveness.

Spell speed is always 10 SS = -0.01 seconds off the GCD, but scales higher on higher casts, and lower on lower.
