It has more of a proper effect in the right place on the forums, or else you'd get replies like the ones above.
If you want something from your server, you go to the forum section specifically for it instead of swimming in a bunch of random "general" topics.
Which is going to sink far down in the depths of old threads.

In either case the post is here. Maybe not the best spot but certainly not illegal. I agree there is a place for this thread but still let it ride and let the OP get his words out there.
