It's fun to play bard and all but I suggest not investing too much on it like crafted gear(especially this since crystal tower is coming out) or myth points until we see what happens in 2.1
Could be nothing but can't hurt to be careful(I'm mostly worried about invigorate being taken away). I still am going to play it though no matter what happens.. invested way too much already.
What? The extra 2 dex on the Toxotes alone nearly makes up for the lost crit. Adding the 8 det in makes it the clearly better choice. The accuracy is useless only because we have way too much in darklight anyways.
That aside, he probably meant to say you can only have one darklight ring so you should upgrade the other one to Hero's.
Are you kidding me? Did you some how forget that River of Blood exists? I'm not saying Crit is be all/end all, I weigh each slot piece-by-piece separately. I've lost my share of Crit in favor of DEX/Determination since I hit 50 upgrading to DL. I look at the what I lose vs. what I gain. But, Toxote's Ring over HQ Spinel, the gain is not worth the loss. Shit, HQ Imperial Operative Choker un-melded is better than anything else pre-mythology, and a well-melded HQ Gryphonskin Choker would actually easily beat Allagan Choker of Aiming.
Just because something has higher item level doesn't mean it's always going to be better, it just has a slightly higher level range of statistics than the previous item level, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will have the best balance of stats required for the job.
I said nothing about item level. I actually used an Imperial Operative Choker until I dropped my Allagan Choker because it had better stats than the Darklight one.
According to every damage formula I've come across for this game. 1 dex is worth just over 4 crit. So in the case of the Allagan vs the Gryphonskin, the Allagan has an extra 4 dex. That means the Gryphonskin needs to have an extra 16 crit at least to make up for the difference. It can have a max of 12 which is 1 more than Allagan. So you still need to make up 15 crit somewhere. You also get 8 det from Gryphonskin. Thats valued even lower than crit so that clearly doesn't make up for it. So the Allagan is clearly better than Gryphonskin even when I completely ignore skillspeed (which the Allagan has 4 more of). Yes crit is important, but dex is a much stronger stat. I see no reason to use Gryphonskin unless you need the accuracy or you need vit melded in.
And yes, I know how my job works.
