If you /examine someone, you won't see it. I think you should be able to see it.

Nope - It's just bugged currently. When I /examine people I can see who made items sometimes and sometimes I can't just like sometimes I can see if something is slotted with Materia and sometimes I can't.

Just one of the many odd little bugs that popped up post launch.

Or maybe is the type who likes to undercut to the point of 0 profit, and doesn't want people to seek him out to call him on it.

It could be something silly like the crafter has to be online in order to see their name.

or the transferred servers, changed names, deleted their account. There are a number of reasons a person would no longer exist

The signature is pretty cool, I think. Someone here mentioned about having some credibility to it. I actually had a odd experience with this not too long ago, though.

I had a couple of friends make items for me, and their names did not appear on it. Although, it made the extra bit of room at the bottom as if there was a name there, but it was blank. Also, just recently, both of their names appeared, but vanished again. The same goes with them and my items.

I wonder what the deal is with that.

I'd bet it's a combination of all 3. The moral of the story? Have morals and sensibility, and you won't need to worry.
