I assume you're speaking of the maintenance notice for network and database maintenance on Monday night? Monday seems to be the weekly maintenance day. They mentioned a while back that they'd be doing maintenances likely once a week to help clean up the servers (mainly the DF Servers I think) due to heavy volume causing the drives to rapidly fragment. Yoshi P actually detailed this fairly well in that particular post. Upon initially reading that post I had thought it was only going to apply to the JP Datacenter but it seems both centers have been requiring the weekly server TLC. This Monday is 6 hours scheduled though which is longer than normal so maybe they have some other fixes in the works too. The last week or so saw regular Monday maint. Two for Binding Coil Turn 5 in a row. One they didn't really explain. And another scheduled server cleanup got extended due to that rather nasty gil stealing exploit.

I get both sides of this argument. You want them to fix things when they notice a problem, and you want them to inform us about what problems they are having. My issue is, the only thing they have added since b4 is mounts, and some other minor stuff. If it is taking all this to fix the problems from launch, how bad is it going to be when 2.1 gets here? This is my first MMO, and things have to get a whole lot worse for me to leave, since I'm having a lot of fun. Just putting it out there.

I see that some of you here want to have their gil stolen on a daily basis.
Or some of you are the same RMT that get countered by the countermeasures maybe?
I dont know any other reason why you wouldnt want the problems of the game fixed...

They did more than add mounts and shit. They rebuilt the engine entirely. People tend to forget that they practically made a new game because it doesn't seem that different on the outside. That's why the "It's a RE-launch" arguments for why this game should be running flawlessly are moot. You build a new office building...there's bugs in the electrical system, a few doors stick, a toilet or two backs up. A couple of months in there's a critical flaw found in the building's framework or worse there's a fire. The building has to be torn down to foundations and rebuilt. You use relatively the same blueprints to rebuild on top of the old foundations but it's still once again a new building and you're going to have to AGAIN work out electrical bugs and backed up toilets and sticky doors.

lol There are games like DC Universe who do a "Game Reset" every freaking day 7am EST and like 11:00pm or so. TWICE per day. Thats bad even if its just 30 mins each. so dont complain.

ehh, it's getting a bit ridiculous. I more or less understood this right after launch, but it's been like 3 months. For PST players raiding at night, it kinda messes with our schedule when the maintenance starts at 8-9... If they moved it a few hours ahead i wouldn't really care, but i'm sure a different time zone would :). Hard to please everyone.

I don't see a point in complaining about something that we cannot change.
If you don't like it, you are free to take your money elsewhere. We all are.
Maintenance happens.... even more so when a lot needs to be done. I cannot be sure WHAT SE is doing with these maintenance times, but I doubt they are just twiddling their fingers and singing jolly songs while they go on. There is probably a good reason, but they aren't being transparent about everything being done because some stuff is best kept unsaid. Sometimes a maintenance is done to improve security and fix vulnerabilities.
As far as others... I empathize. The maintenance times ALWAYS cut into my group's coil schedule. Every single week. It's frustrating, but it is what it is. I could say, "I wish they would do it during the morning -- while most people are at work," but that would make a bunch of other people with different schedules upset. There is no 'perfect' time.

I dont have any complain with all the maintenance, but at least please erase all the botters and gold seller please :/

sounds like SE spent all that money they made with FFXIV:ARR on hookers and sake instead of a capable tech team.
would have done the same :|!

How can people possibly complain about them trying to fix things? Like, what exactly do you want them to do? Leave the game broken? I'm sure THAT wouldn't eventually lead to the downfall of the game.
