Need a laptop upgrade, wondering if this one will run the game? Help!!

This ... Is incorrect. Computers are designed to work for users. Laptops have actually come a long way in gaming. Laptops can run almost anything that desktops can now. Personally, I'm happy to spend a couple hundred bucks more for mobility and having the option to take my gaming with me than be tied to the same chair facing the same direction in the same room every time I want to play. But hey, I like having the ability to choose.

Mid end laptops can run FFXIV on standard to high settings without a ton of issues. I currently run a 7670M slightly overclocked and I can run FFXIV on high settings getting about 35-40FPS. These are acceptable frame rates for me.

The GPU in the laptop specs show it as a HD 8330. This is a low end card and honestly wouldn't be able to run FFXIV even on standard settings. This isn't a good buy in my mind.

You would need to be looking for something with a dedicated GPU with at least 1GB GDDR3 or better with compatibility for DX11.1 to future proof yourself a bit. Ideally, you want a 1.5-3GB GPU but these are a bit pricy. I've cited some links to give you an idea of what to look for:

When looking at laptop specs, I usually look at the GPU first, then the CPU. Always look for laptops with a dedicated GPU and find what model it is and punch it into notebookcheck.net to see the benchmark results.
