I don't know why you guys have update problems

Because you have no problems doesn't mean other people won't. The updater sucks.

the only people with issue are the once that can't open the ports, The updater is way better then POL but yes SE should just make it so you can download each patch on the website.

There is a website you could download each update from http://tehkrizz.net i sure hope Mod don't delete my post there no other way to get the patch faster if you can't forward your dam ports ; ;

I had to reinstall the game cause i received weird updater errors.
However, now that the first 3 are finished and trying to get the last one the speed dropped to 0.0B/s -___-
Oh and btw I tried everything i could to get remote connections, opening ports, disabling firewalls etc, wouldn't help :(

Oh yeah, and this is my first post on this forum .... yay :cool:

SE still see this as using third party programs, and they can ban people if they find out, which they can only find out if you tell them which is what you are doing posting on here.

I don't think they care right now anyways they did the first month they even ban the 3 party windower but now there a few out there and lot's of bots and it the same website that made ffxi bots also and they just don't care.

I would say this is to keep subscription numbers up, if they say that the lost 1k subscribers, because they banned 1k bots with the state of the game it would be bad for the investors.

If subscriptions start to rise they will probably get alot stricter with breach of ToS

My experience with the recently lolpatch:

SE downloader: 50% in about 5 hours
uTorrent: i think about 10-15 mins at 600 kb/s
...

also folks incase you didnt know if you start the patch and then cancel it, it will place a torrent file into one of your FFXIV folders, at work so cant fully recall the file path but the torrent is super fast. and as Zenaku posted above http://tehkrizz.net is a direct download as well as torrent. Though you do have to wait for him to actually post the DL.
