True or False on Sept 22nd 2011 ....

You will NOT be seeing chocobos or airship in september, that's for sure, because according to the producer's letter:

current task -> Examination of mount system (including chocobos)

future task -> Establishment of details for mount system

implementation of mount system is no where to be found!

not a word on airships either, I can bet we will never see them at least until next year, and that is assuming FFXIV is still alive by then.

1 year later, and what is new? What has changed?

This is what I'm already asking. I know 1.18 will disappoint. I'm preparing for the worst.

Lowering your expectations does not ensure emotional safety. You can expect the best from Square, keep them responsible for their own game.
But you can also prepare for the worst and be understanding of possible mishaps. Keep your expectations high, but realistic.

I rather the airships be located in the cities, but nope we might have to walk to some silly dock a billion miles away from the cities, and keel and roll over dead waiting for them or from getting agro and having to get another chocobo again. /sarcasm
