DOH doesn't need FATES if you are using your LEVES correctly. Once you hit 40 there is a quest in LWK (there are similar for other crafters as well) that by turning in HQ Bearskin Culottes you get 121K XP. You can buy these for 15K or craft them yourself. Up to that point you just craft unique crafts and do Leve Quests also.

i can visualize the circumstances,
Green fate indicators mean botany, yellow fate indicators mean mining. A fate pops. It's for mining! All the miners in full parties of 8 make a mad chocobo-dash for the fate, whereupon they discover a giant... ROCK! Everyone hastily begins hacking at the offending rock, 20 or 30 miners altogether chipping and digging ferociously, violently attempting to reduce the rock into grains of silky sand. The fate ends, those who hacked the most get gold, those who hacked least-- bronze. Everyone teleports back to the aetheryte in a mass of portals leaving only a smoldering crater where that heinous rock once stood. Now they wait.. What may spawn next? Who knows? It might be another rock. Only time will tell... -

That good the last 3 post made my day. But thats cool i like that so far. a rook that may have some time of item in it you need to make something so you dont have to spend tomes.
