Agreed, Titan is one of the most fun things in this game atm. My first time I got hit now and then, but I quickly learned the rotation. Since my first time I have downed Titan countless times, and just today did a carry run for a friend who really isn't that skilled at dodging, and she died on the first attempt but not the second. We had one bard, and 2 Scholars. I have also done it with no bards.
Best setup is probably:
Paladin
WHM
SCH
Bard
Bard (alternate MP songs)
Monk/Dragoon
Monk/Dragoon (two for limit, in case one gets stuck in the rock)
Summoner (For in battle raises without draining healer's MP)

I adore the titan HM fight, it actually shows who might be half decent in later game, people need to know how to dodge and that's surprisingly hard for 90% of people I've tried titan with, I really enjoy testing people with their ability to not stand in a weight of the land.

I also agree the fight is in a good place. It is all about personal responsibility. Each player must know what to do. I reached the fight last night and have since beaten it twice, both times non conventional setups. My first night learning it we had the ideal 1 tank 2 healer 5 fps and only made it past heart once. Tonight I got into a group with 2 tanks, we all knew the fights and beat it first try. Then I helped some friends and we beat it with 3 healers. I had no problems with 'lag' causing a hit and once new people learned it it was easy.
I will volunteer to help ppl now because I think the fight is fun.
