you prefer it on the bottom is preference, I happen to prefer the left analog stick on the top. but that again is preference. the D-pad on the Dualshock 2/3 has been superior since the first xbox and people who prefer the xbox layout have complained about the D-pad for a long time. but that isnt because of the layout.Quote:

The PS/2/3/4 d-pad isnt actually seperated its a single piece of plastic but its almost right up against the electronic board/film underneath it which is why it's superior. which is as you probably guessed it pretty much the same with the SNES D-pad

Mocrosofts new xbox controller for the one is supposed to be much better. Sounds like its gonna be similar to ps d-pads or any other D-Pad which is a huge plus for me kuz I always prefered xbox controller over all else. Just that D-Pad.
But as far as I know, that controller isn't coming out till the console comes out so I'll have to wait n see
