that is just not true. last letter from the producers they mentioned how they were aware that melee dps was suffering because they had to dodge too many aoes and could not do their rotations properly. and if a mage is able to hit for 2700, and i believe that is from an aoe attack...say it hits 4 mobs. that would be over 10k of damage off of only one cast. that is just outrages. my dragon would take an eternity to deal that much damage.
2700 is with a crit, it isnt probable that it would crit on all 4. shy of swiftcast this is also with a 4 second cast spell that consumes 100% of the mages mana (given, they have means to get it back). no doubt, black mages AoE is much better than a dragoons (given dragoons AoE isnt shabby at all for the first 10-15 seconds)
also: monks are arguably top single target dps in the game on a melee friendly fight. i was joking (mostly).
Oh boy. Just had some fun in turn 5, theres a buff mechanic which allows for huge DPS gains, I was doing 3700 non-critical flares. Whenever I get a crit flare off that part of the phase I'd imagine it will be 5k+
Are you actually complaining about a 4 sec cast which drains all your mana and screws up your entire rotation. Lmao, no words.
Say I hit for 2k every 10 sec, but you're hitting 500 every 1 sec, does that make me OP and you balanced? People see big hits and automatically think it means you're OP. BLM have to hardcast to deal decent damage, and in this game there is a lot of movement. That's why BLMs are perfectly balanced. I love people jumping into random discussion complaining about their own class and then indirectly asking for nerfs for other classes.
If you wanted to do AoE, you shouldn't have a rolled a dragoon. Simple as that.
