You don't "need" voice chat to do anything in this game. You do, however, need to know what you're doing. Voice chat makes it easier to find out what to do in real time if you don't already know.
I agree. Personally, if I had a laptop I would be playing this game on that instead of ps3. My desktop isnt anywhere near my ps3, either. Plus the fact, not everyone has a droid or iphone. I have skype on my phone, but mumble/vent/teamspeak aren't compatible with my current windows phone. I have no intention of upgrading my phone, or buying a tablet just for this game. So I'm sol unless I pug it, which isn't ideal but it's better than not doing it at all.
Yes voice chat is required just like communication is required just like group strategy is required, Coil is not meant for the pugs that like to type.
I think the issue is what's the point? No in-game voice chat system is ever as good as vent/TS/skype/steam, so why even put the time and effort of the devs into making an in-game voice chat system?
They didn't talk much, but you also have to realize that they spent A LOT of hours on that fight so most of them have the flow and know the fight encounter like the back of their hand. With my guild, we are pretty quiet until we get to the divebomb phase, then we talk a little more.
VOIP sure makes Turn 2 and Turn 4 easier.
It shouldn't come to any surprise at all that VOIP makes organization easier for fairly difficult raid content.
The reasons listed throughout the posts. Yes you can do it w/o the things you said. And if you have acess to them great. But if you don't? Then you're either SOL or gonna have to really study the content while other people get through it easier via 3rd party usage. How is this acceptable? It seems like a glaring oversight.
^That.
Find a new group.
You can't expect a pug or new FC to know how well you play without it if you've never done it with them before. Some people really do need to be told when to do what over voice because they aren't paying attention to everything going on (ie passing the rot).
If you're trying to get SE to add voice chat in game, they probably think it's a waste of resources for the very small minority of people that would actually use it. Come out and say what you want directly without beating around the bush, or necro an old thread about it :p
