Dear SE: We do not care if FFXIV is a MMO. We want it to be a Final Fantasy.

I dont find the story that epic, its very "obvious" and uncreative. Its like a highschool teenager story, you know what to expect, its going to be like every other similar to its genre and it has no surprises.

There are many elements in Final Fantasy and while Experimentation is good. and I applaud it and use it a lot. I think a lot of what you would consider experimental is already in game, the problem is a lot of players, both Final Fantasy and MMO centric, complained about these features. So yes, more experimental features and elementals by itself would be an Element of Final Fantasy that could be tasked to being implemented.

I think what we need to make this more Final Fantasy is... something to care about. Right now, the thing I care about most in this game is my friends. (Which isn't bad at all, but a bit confusing.) If I didn't have them, or if they all decided to leave, I don't know if I would be interested in playing this game further. Nothing extends to me now to feel as if I need to help someone or something in game without my friends. It feels like my character is in a selfish existence in this game and doesn't really have anything to fight for other than what I deem important with real people. The whole 'the princess is in another castle' view is missing from this game. I would like to feel that if one of my friends had to stop for awhile or something, that I would want to keep playing for them, not stop playing because my importance in this game would be gone without them. I know this is sort of abstract thinking, but right now this game doesn't make me care about it, but rather it feels like only a medium to keep in contact with friends in this manner and that's what makes me care.
