For a SCH I would focus on crit over det simply due to the fact that a crit adlo has a double strength shield, so you want as many of those as you can get.

For a WHM, it's probably preference. I would personally prefer det for a more reliable heal increase.

SS does not seem worth focusing on. Selene can buff spell speed by 30% and even that is only like a tenth of a second off a cast for about a (off the top of my head) 90 point increase. The biggest benefit for a healer is getting a heal off faster, but how often do you lose a tank by a tenth of a second late heal? You won't really see an "extra" heal either unless you are spamming them for about a minute straight.

The way I see it Det is a constant increase to my heals, where as Crit is a chance to increase my heals. I would rather Increase my through put than have a chance to increase one heal! Pie seems like a good idea. Any thoughts on how much a "MASSIVE" amount of SS is to make a difference? Not simply a guess but an actual value. As it stands my stat priority is:

MND>MD>Det>PIE>SS>Crit

Ok I get it. Crit is usefull for SCH due to their Adloquium Spell (I was wondering what Adlo ment). But for a WHM crit is not a very high pick on the stat tree. Follow-up question regarding SS. For Regen, does a high SS make it tick more often (a la WoW) or is it fixed and SS only effects the GCD and cast timers?

I believe it only affects the GCD and cast timers. HoT and DoT are on set timers for the ticks based on server times, if what everyone else is saying is true.

One huge issue with SS is that it takes >700 SS stat for it to have much of a noticable difference on cast times; and I don't know about you, but even crafted gear, most of the stats you are getting are between low and high 400's when you focus on them and add materia.
