Please remove the ability to roll 'need' on Titan.

I know it will get shot down with "classes are useless" but Gladiator cannot use Holy Shield, but it certainly can use Wall of Crags.

That's actually not a bad point, mostly because we should expect new jobs down the road and a secondary GLA job may still use a shield.

Vanity atm is the biggest use I can think of. The devs have confirmed vanity slots so, while it may appear douchy to some, it is a valid reason.

Definitely not. I got my relic scary quick after hitting 50, like within two days, and I really like the look of Ifrit's Scholar book. I farmed it, and if I was ever with someone who actually *Needed* it as an actual upgrade, I'd let em have it

It does not matter if he uses the shield or not. He was the only PLD and didn't have the item. He can use the shield as vanity when vanity releases. Titan isn't for gearing alts unless your on your alt At that moment otherwise it's anyone's that can roll need and doesn't need it. ESP in a pug.

Now the loop hole is this...if you put the item in the retainer the game "thinks" that you do not have it and will allow you to roll need or greed on it and it WILL go into your bag. THAT IS WHAT NEEDS FIXED.

Take a look at what the thread is called. If 'need' is gone, I can't hit 'need', so therefore i must hit 'greed'. Now it's anyones game for a polearm. Now if a BLM rolls higher than me, the BLM gets the polearm, therefore I do not get it then I get pissed. I am pissed because 'need' is gone and I couldn't hit 'need' therefore i must hit 'greed'.

I've run Titan at least 20 more times now since getting my Relic, because I want the Wall of Crags. I'm just a guy who'd like to collect memorabilia, and this includes getting Garuda's Gaze even though people would tell me it's pointless to.

Aside from the vanity slot and GLA not being able to use the relic shield, you forgot that not everyone fighting that battle is doing it for the relic fight. You can only work on one relic at a time, and what if someone is tanking the fight while working on Gae Bolg, Stardust Rod, Spharai, etc.

Some people want these pieces on the off chance that aesthetic (transmog) gear will be introduced. I believe it was talked about but never actually confirmed. I doubt the Paladin in your story was thinking about that, though. Pretty soon, everyone and their grandmother will have relic, people will be experts at the fight, and will be using it as a new farm method for myth (if they aren't already). Then these pieces will be dropping like candy and no one will care who gets what.

I mentioned Titan specifically, not all loot.

Judging by the responses, the solution is pretty clearly don't help anyone with Titan. I didn't even want the shield, I passed on it immediately; it's just rude to roll on something you don't need when half the group has been helping you for hours and other people could actually equip it (the armoury system exists).

If I was running Titan to steal the bow I would still be upfront that the mechanics enable me to do this, rather than try to justify it. Upgrades > vanity.
