Dex:Crit is roughly 1 : 4.5 because crit is pretty good for Bards. Dex : Det is 1 : 4.3 because Bards have crappy weapon damage.
Det and Crt are roughly similar for Bards point-for-point. Most gear has 50% more crit than det though, for the same item budget.
Comparing AK and DL , I prefer DL in all pieces coz DL give more defensive stat.
And dead BRD deal 0 dps :3
The other problem with getting full DL on bard is it WAY over budgets accuracy. With the full set iirc it puts you around 520 when the turn 5 soft cap is 487. Two other spots where DL should NOT be used (in addition to glove/pant already mentioned, which should be AK) are neck and wrist. Even the ilvl 55 crafted stuff is better than DL.
So technically the only slots bards should be using DL in are:
head
chest
belt
boots (smallest increase over ak gear of all pieces, so get these last)
ear
ring
However, if you do in fact get lucky with spiritbonding aetherial earrings from AV, those can be better than DL too.
