What's the actual point of this 15 minute lockout timer.....

Of course some things like language barrier make it impossible to be able to explain what they are doing wrong but making it easier for people to just quit is not the answer to the issue.

And vote kick is 90% of the time abused by people up their own backsides. "No Relic weapon?" *Vote kick*. "Died on boss?" *Vote kick* "My DPS meter says you are the lowest DPS" *Vote kick* "I want the WHM loot so the other WHM has to leave" *Vote kick* and so on.

IF there was no lockout timer, I cant tell you how many tanks/healers would have bailed on HM Ifrit on seeing no Black mage or summoner. They would then get another instaqueue for tanks and a 5-10 min queue for healers, leaving the other dps in a 30-40min queue.

Although a 3 wipes and you can quit option would be acceptable.

Other games have some way of detecting whether you've wiped X times, or you've at least cleared Y bosses and doesn't penalise you for leaving under certain circumstances.

This ^ is something that is in other games, but I kinda forgot about it cause we get spoiled in a lot of the other established mmo's. I'm sure eventually as FFXIV gets more established we'll start to see this sort of database based system implemented, but as of right now I think this 15 minute lockout does more harm then good.

Also on another note, I don't agree with the join party in progress as a tank. I'm sure there will be legitimate reasons to lose a tank on a dungeon, but the only times I've used it and replaced another tank I've found out quite quickly that there was a really good reason the former tank left the party.

I've never had this "abused" voke kick, if you got into a party with 3 "friends", and they kick you, you probably didnt want to be there in the first place. IF you get kicked for having shitty dps or dying to mechanics, you probably deserved it. I've seen a guy who got hit by 3 consecutive AOEs from Anantaboga in AK [after being told to hide and even watched the other 2 dps run and hide (he died on the 3rd one)] and his excuse was "first time" is the kind of people that just don't get it.
