Well the Gil seller's post got vaporized quickly at least. Don't know if they were just that arrogant, that stupid, or both to think they could advertise here.

I'm surprised they let this topic stay. Having a RMTer pop in here sounds like something they'd want to keep on the down low.

I care about this issue too but please call them Gil Sellers or RMTs.

Gil is gold.... The same way that Gald from Tales of games is Gold, and Zenny from BoF series is gold. Its all gold!!!!

It doesn't matter what they're made of. It has its own name.

Probably o.o Given how heavy and weak gold is you can't use more than a tiny amount of the stuff in a coin if you use it at all. Pure gold coins? You're just going to end up with a mess of twisted metal lumps, and carrying a bag of them'd destroy your back in a day or so.

Tin meanwhile's cheap, strong, alloys well.. yeah I'd be surprised if your average gil isn't largely tin or at least some other, similar metal. But tin's pretty ruddy likely.

Remember that cliché of biting coins? Yeah, they're not supposed to be marked by it - 's to prove they've been made in an approved mint from the right metals. Biting a coin made of actual gold'd leave marks for a dead cert; although someone'd probably melt it down for a bunch of real ones rather than chucking it like your average counterfeit.
