Spot-on. A lot of the maps are actually pretty big in scale; what makes them seem that much smaller are the movement speeds, and the lack of any real cluttered/maze-like zones (i.e., Yhoator/Yuhtunga). SE also tailored all of the animations around the GCD (including the run cycle); naturally, you're going to need to match the cycle's timing up with the movement speed.
I dunno, I may be wrong but I think Koschtat, La Theine, Rolanberry... are way bigger than anything in XIV ARR, and those were from vanilla XI.Quote:

The maps aren't bigger in XIV, your character was slower in XI.
are you crazy, these areas wre more guilty of copypasta than anything. The same walls, the same doors, the same floors, the same debris, repeated all throughought all of these areas.Quote:
like all Zilartian areas that were manmade uses cerment, which is why Delkfutt, Feiyin and Ru'Aun Gardens had similar designs but significantly different interiors
The world is pretty big for a newly released mmo, but I wish zones weren't divided.
I get that having everything compressed saves space and lag and whatnot, I totally get that.
But I wish I walked into a main city and maybe get lost? Not feel that I'm walking around this tiny zone just to zone to another and so on.
I don't know, I can't feel that I'm in a massive world if they're just gonna divide everything in tiny pieces.
