A couple days ago, before restarting, I was in Dzemael Darkhold. Our tank wasn't even trying to hold aggro, after about 40 minutes in and just getting past the eyeball I told them that I was sorry, the tank needed to practice holding enmity and left. Mind you this tank was in Lv. 50 Artifact Gear and it was oh so obvious that he had no idea how to tank and just fate ground his way to 50. I'm not against Fate grinding, if you can play your class, if you're re-rolling, or just talented, but this was a disappointment.
On the bright side, I don't have to wait 4 hours for a DF party.
I had a tank demand gil from the rest of the group (I did not pay) and then wiped 5 pulls in a row before people left. I thought he was just joking at first because I did not think you could trade gil in DF dungeons. After botching the pulls I guess he was just a troll.
Was in a Titan HM group yesterday where one DPS asked "how much for 100k Gil" and the tank replied with a link to a site and a price tag.
I was baffled since I didn't know that farmers played end game content. We practised for a while but never killed the boss.
People are playing Tank to get around the Duty Finder lines. They're terrible and have no interest in playing well because they know they can just jump back into a party if they fail. They lot on everything because they need it for their other class that is their actual main.
There is a simple answer to this, join a decent free company, then you can find players with the class you need, who a) know what they are doing, b) are not total jerks (or else they'd have been kicked from their FC) and c) Have access to people who can give advice on playing various classes and in teams.
I can't imagine anyone actually paying to get plvled in this game. The lvling is so easy that you really don't need to pay anyone for it. In 11 it made more sense when the game was harder. If you didn't want to spend months trying to hit 75 you could pay. But if you can hit 50 in a week or 2, I really can't see it.
I'm guessing they were just bad players. Tons of them out there.
Their activity, if intentional, would be disruption and violation of the user agreement (s3.2). It's unlikely to be harassment (s3.6) unless you run in to the same tank repeatedly or the tank demands money. It might up the severity of the charges if that happens though.
Anyway, just report them and tell the others to do so as well. It is unlikely to be a bannable offense at the beginning though. Probably a warning followed by jail time. Suspension might occur if it keeps up or they're using an alt for that sort of thing. Also keep in mind there are just some bad tanks, new tanks, or tanks being played by their usual player's kid/friend/relation. Sadly, internet etiquette is not something every parent or school teaches.
