Help a new EU player (gmt+1) pick a server.

I never really RP'd in MMO's before so I don't know how well can I do it, and I'm not really familiar with FF XIV gameplay besides the few hours on a character creation screen and the first quest made multiple times on various servers, so I don't know how would Besaid react to me. I played quite a few FF games though, so I guess I can get into "ff" spirit easily.

You should both come to Fabul - we've had a few people switch servers (when they were in their 30s) to be with other EU people. Everyone seems happy with their choice. If there are any questions I can field feel free to ask. You can even post in our public forums (on the CS site) to ask there and keep this clean if you wish.

Actually, I might have a question (or two ^^):
1. How much of a newbie can your LS member be? I'm pretty new to the game, I'm just learning the ropes.
2. How casual can a member be? I can play for 4 days constantly and then not play for like 3 due to classes, RL stuff, exams and so on.
3. I understand your LS rules, it's just I'm really bad with forums. I talk a lot in game because I play MMORPGs mainly for the MMO part (and RPG too, it's just up till FFXIV I enjoyed one player RPGs (mainly on consoles) more for the gameplay + story department, but MMORPGs for parties and the social element) so I am quite communicative in-game, it's just that off-game stuff that I'm bad in. So I keep forgetting, despite my best efforts, about posting on forums and so on. I think there's a question in here somewhere o.O

If you are going to stick to it then it doesn't matter in all honesty. None of us are born with the knowledge of how to play the game so we all have to start from somewhere. The only reason we suggest 20+ players is because it implies they will stick around. However by no means does that me we only want a certain level. So you're lack of knowledge is trival. We're here to help each other and learn from another - thats the point of a MMO in part.

Absolutely fine. We're an EG casual LS. The casual stems from we're older, have jobs kids etc so we can't play 24 hours a day. However we play (for the most part nightly) and bust our rears when we are in game :) We have a few people who are students and can't play every night but when they do they enjoy it for all its worth.

Don't worry about it, nothing is mandatory. Forums are useful because we have two timezones of people so its an information hub. Sign up, make a hello post (if you want_ and post under your own prerogative. We have vent as well if thats more your thing :P

I don't have much to add seeing as Vack covered everything cept you should move servers. We have a lot of EU people and are very well organized. Starting over really isn't hard - one of the people who switched servers was 30 (on Selbina) and now he is 44. It's worth it in the long run seeing as we won't be going anywhere for a long time to come :)

Ill definitely be joining you ^^ I mean Ill be on the server. Playing with people is what mmo is all about ^^.

You can trust Vack ;P He's a good guy and Fabul is a good server. We have a good EU community, myself included :D
