there always been an halloween event, and they never did an event for their obon. The only japanese festivity they put in the game it's the Kodomo no hi, the children holyday in May.

I love events!! ♥

But I don't expect 2-3 to already be active when the game has only been out 1.5 months or so, and many players couldn't even log in for the first week.

I really hope we get something in time for Halloween though!

For the record, here's the different holiday events they had in 1.0. I think it'd be reasonable to expect that most or all of them will return in ARR:

Chinese New Year (Heavensturn)
Valentine's Day (Valentione's Day)
Little Girls' Day (Little Ladies' Day)
Easter (Hatching-tide)
Summer Event (Firefall/Moonfire Faire)
FFXIV Anniversary (Foundation Day)
Halloween (All Saints' Wake)
Christmas (Starlight Celebration)

It doesn't seem like we'll be getting Foundation Day this year, but aside from that, I think we can expect most of these to return.

The game has been out for a little over a month...

It's only been out for a month or so. And not only that but there's been a slew of problems.

Honestly, I'd rather they work on the problems then give events.

I like events yes, but I like a game that works more.

It'd be nice to have the /snowball emote back for a bit. :D

I've always looked forward to holiday events, even if they can be done quickly. I just like collecting stuff.

Are you actually comparing the number of events between a newly released MMO and one that has been out for over 10 years?

There also seem to be Cherry confetti (Dance of the Five Petals event) in MB list. I wouldn't mind cherry blossom viewing event at all, if that's what it is.
