What class is Thancred? (Spoilers)

Actually I'd say he is a Bard, he has all the charisma for it!

Sounds like job stuff to me. Probably gonna be DNC from PGL and BRD from GLA. I'm excited to see where SE is going with this. Maybe something like this:

PGL: THF, DNC
GLA: BRD, PLD
MRD: DRK, Berserker
LNC: DRG, ???
ARC: RNG, Assassin
CON: Wizard, BLU
THM: Cleric, Necromancer

I hope they include gatherers and crafters in this job thing.

Weapons are specific to class in XIV. Unless Thancred is somehow special (which I admit is not impossible) he is a gladiator since he is using a dagger. That's my take on it.

The job system they are going to implement did not exist at the time Thancred was created.

That's not 100% true. weapons are what define classes here, but there isn't only one class for one kind of weapon. You can see CON and THM using the very same weapon type, being only different models. The same would happen to GLA...GLA has its own swords, but still we can have a blue mage having its own sabers, thiefs and jugglers having their own knives, red mages and fencers having their own rapiers, etc. They all would be at sword group, but not at "Gladiator's Arm" group.

Conjurers use wands and radials. Thaums use scepters and staves. Not the same at all.

bards use daggers as "weapons"

You're using a reference from XI to discuss something in XIV? For why? What is in XI is completely irrelevant to XIV.

i always thought he was there to encourage people to build their own class and call it whatever they like. learn some cnj, some thm and some gla and call yourself a bard. armory system'd.
