Coil Turn 4 Question

Honestly if you can't do it, look at your DPS, look at your rotations, then look at your gear. One of those are your problems. Either you have a weak player, someone (or some people) have a weak rotation, or weak gear build. Obviously if you aren't doing it within the time given you're just not at the point where you should be to complete the turn. Try and figure out where your DPS is lacking and fix it.

Strategy wise, mages and summoners on aoe and spider duty, physical dps on rooks.

Hmm, all of us are geared, and I know that we know our rotations (none of us are really lacking on DD that I can tell) its really only this single pull that seems to give us trouble. Some of us are half DL, with 3-4 pieces of ilvl 90.

It could be that they are not hitting acc requirements? I'll have our group leader check and make sure.

Our healer has no mana problems on turn 4. The whm cleric stance holy spam in first wave and 4th wave. We dont lb anything but the dreadnaught

We have almost the same exact raid comp as you, except 2x PLD instead of 1 PLD 1 WAR. Been killing stuff so fast we could /dance before next wave of adds spawned. Someone is doing something wrong somewhere.

Basically what Sylvanna said above, your DPS simply isn't pulling its weight. If you are geared, someone or maybe even all of you, isn't/aren't pulling the needed weight to clear the fourth phase in time. Going all out burn, you should have plenty of time left over assuming you killed the dreadnaught from phase 3 quickly enough. If you are running 400 acc then sure, it could be problematic, but still not as severe as you say.

If you are having DPS issues I feel bad for you son, I've got ninety-nine problems, but having enough DPS ain't one.

It's a dps check and everyone needs top gear. Man I can't wait for that show again.

Another method people use for wave 4 is to just have the tank kite/tank the bugs and have your DPS kill the spinner rooks. When the wave 5 dreadnought pops have it eat the wave 4 bugs and then burn it down before wave 6 begins.

Obviously this depends on your DPS being able to burn it down quickly, since it needs to die before wave 6 or you're screwed. Tanking 2 dreadnoughts is possible as many people have shown but if one of them has attack buffs your tank is going to die fast.

Your other problem is that once wave 6 starts although you don't have to rush anymore there's going to be a lot of adds up you need to kill (2 knights, 2 soldiers, a spinner rook and 2 bugs) and only 1 tank for it all since the other will be pre-occupied with the final dreadnought.

With our Setup the AOE department is lacking, we roll with DRG, MNK (out of tp at this point pretty much already lol ^^), BLM, BRD, WHM, SCH, 2x PLD.

So while the MNK does single target DMG on the rooks, the rest is AOEing like mad. Sometimes, due to positioning with the bugs (or if someone dies, sigh), we don't make it in time before the next add wave spawns. We simply pull the bugs to the edge of the area (to avoid bugs eaten) and focus them down (1-3 bugs), then we kill the Soldier/Knight Combo and burn the dreadnought #2 to ~60%.

You don't actually need to kill them all before the next wave spawns, but at least they should be almost dead at this point.

We dont need LB for Phase 4 at all. We use it later when the second dreadnought comes. Setup is Summoner, Blackmage, Bard and of course the incredible Monk :D DPS is insane and i think for turn 4 you need that.

I don't see how they have the MP to do that. D: I start getting fairly low (1500ish) by the final phase and that's without Holy spam. Of course, we have a Warrior tank who feels like he's made of paper which requires constant attention to keep up. xD
