I think a lazer is a bad idea.

If we're going to implement advanced forms of weaponry, I believe we should go all the way and push technology to the limits. Every player should start with the Sworb in their inventory. It is an orb that is sharp on all sides. Only a true master can wield it, but they are unstoppable once they can properly use it.
If that is going too far, why not mixers... made of BLADES. It's peerless defense; you're always attacking and always defending. Guaraanteed 9999 on all accounts. The only limit is yourself.

I'm all for the idea so long as the victory/level-up fanfare is the intro tune from Austin Powers.
