Exactly, in fact anyone who comes on here and puts "No" for the question are you willing to change servers, you are pretty much wasting your time here and would be better served just branching out in your own server and taking a risk and talking to people. I mean it should be clear that if no one is willing to transfer then that leaves your pool pretty empty.

Well sure, though I suppose for some it might be the money thing, I mean I'm sure not everyone wants to fork out to transfer, especially if it doesn't end up working out after all. Or they simply cannot afford it?

Everyone's situation is different, like yourself you stated previously your a leader of a FC so your not looking to move which makes your pool pretty empty lol.

Cost is the cause of why but we're discussing is the effect which is that if no one can transfer then you have no pool. If you've read through the vast majority then you'd see that a huge percentage are unwilling to transfer. Approaching people in your own server where you love your fc and don't have the flexibility of making a move is the best option. No matter how small your server meeting people local has a better % chance than the possibility of finding someone in a forum where next to no one can actually transfer. On the other hand if you ARE willing to transfer then the math is in your favor and you have the largest possible pool because of your flexibility and ability to meet anyone from any server.

So it's not a matter of affordability it's a matter of creating the best possible outcome for meeting someone.

Also if your mentality is this then you're doing it wrong. When it comes to meeting people you do so realizing that you are going to potentially meet a whole lot of people who aren't a match before you find the right one. In something like this you don't just get to dip your foot in the pool until its the perfect temperature. You dive in period understanding the risk or you don't do it at all.

Now regarding my so called mentality, I am happy to meet people, chat with them learn what we may enjoy etc together. This is after all what making alts and possibly chatting on Discord is for, you can soon enough learn if the simple things will work for you both.

I'm talking about more after all this, say for example you learn and meet and find you get along, then they disappear or something happens and they cannot get on. You may decide your back to square one and you don't really want to pay yet again to transfer. Which honestly some might, those £12 do end up adding up over the time. I'm all for speculate to accumulate but there is also the point when it becomes too much.

Well I think that's a pessimistic way to go about it actually o_o it depends on your server's population, really, and not everyone who looks at this thread posts. I mean I see where you're coming from considering you're in Midgard - I come from there originally and it was kinda dead LOL.. but I've met lots of Hyperion (5? more?) people from the thread and I'm sure people from, say, Balmung and Cactuar could say the same. You're not gonna get along with everyone but what I'm trying to get at is, not being up for transfer isn't an automatic Better Luck Next Time, Kid.

It's not pessimism it's reality. It's pure math. The numbers are real, the odds are real. Even if your server population is large the number of people who are going to post on here and say that they aren't able to move and still successfully find someone else from the same server on this forum would be ridiculously dwarfed by the number of people who just found people in their own server by every day means of just talking to people. Sure you can do it but you're likelihood of success is extremely small. To make that pool even smaller is if you are a male looking for a female, if you are only available during certain hours, etc.

Again we aren't talking about cost we're talking about opportunity. Each question that provides the answer No equates to a smaller pool size and some of those questions such as server transfer dramatically shrinks that pool size. That simple. Which goes back to my point of understanding and agreeing with why someone would abandon using this forum for meeting someone and go to a more local approach since their chances would be vastly improved.

The most fair thing is if both people transfer to an unknown server for the two of them. If someone would transfer to a "random" server, then I will transfer as well with that person.

I think it would be a bit selfish if only one person transfers and the other just stay around their friends. Now that SE is going to allow us to keep in touch with friends cross server like in PF it would be a great opportunity to do

Success can be found here but I do agree that it is rare. Main thing is to be yourself and be completely open with the person you are interested in and hopefully they find you interesting as well. Trust goes a long way and will help when you or the other person has a rough time.
Thankfully I’ve found someone on here that turned out to be a very good match for me, so I know it is possible to find people on here, it’s just not always easy.

I beat the odds, I wasn't willing to transfer due to having a house and FC. I been through the EB 3 times, first 2 fell apart within 6 months or less. My current partner I have been with for 13 months now and couldn't be happier. This thread does work but can take time to find that perfect person for you.

I thought I had success, but my partner decided to ditch me for someone else for an in-game and rl relarionship. I thought I had a best friend, but I was completely wrong. I've also been theough about 7 to 10 Bondings, I lost count. Everyone says someone is out there for me, but i don't know.
