Wait... what? Endgame? Well... I bet that's gonna feel a bit awkward once they realize what's going on.

This is pathetic.
Figured I'd throw my voice in this thread as well. My boyfriend and I play side by side. The lag is very noticeable when watching movements on his computer versus movements on my computer.
We have managed to down Titan HM with our FC, but it wasn't smooth, people did sometimes get hit by the Weight attack, and it took us a while, even with someone calling out in mumble what the next attack would be.
I would agree with many that downing Titan is possible, but you have to rely on predicting when he'll cast attacks. We haven't started raiding yet, but I really don't look forward to wiping on a boss fight several times to learn an attack pattern because we can't rely on the visual cues the game provides.
I'd also note that we have raided in other games (WoW, SWTOR, Tera), without any sort of issues. We know how to move out of stuff, clearly we can predict stuff if we -have- to. The problem is that we shouldn't have to resort to that.
Lovely, a mod even manages to lock the thread but still does not manage to even mention the issue the past 73 pages have been about.
Not holding my breath, it was a decent distraction for a little while, hope to see some of you in playable games; Fanboys enjoy your subpar game and impossible pvp.
Yeah, they need to up their game server side. No point in having "move out of the fire" fights when your server infraestructure doesn't support that kind of gameplay because of server side lag.
Get better servers/connections or do something client side so the check is done in my computer not server.
Lol still no official response to this thread? Wow >.>
It's certainly one way for SE to loose customers.
I shouldn't have to rely on luck to dodge a move during Titan. If I've been bad, that's my fault. But when you clearly get out, and still get twatted upside your head its kinda depressing.
I kinda get the feeling the put more effort into our Japanese counter parts. I have a separate character on a JP server, you can notice the difference 10fold.
Please sort this SE, it's becoming boring now.
The fact that they're trying to brush this issue under the rug is all I need to stay unsubscribed.
Figured I'd post in here.
- Other characters look weird and laggy while moving, it just isn't fluid.
- When playing with friends we can see we aren't anywhere we appear to be on each other's screens. It is WAY off.
- AoE abilities are just awful, that point has been made.
- Instant Abilities are NOT INSTANT and this is easily the biggest and ugliest flaw with the combat in my opinion. Just awful. The worst part is SE already said this is "intended game design."
So yeah. Great game, but let's be honest. I'm not going to waste time in end-game if MY SKILL doesn't determine whether or not I die.
what do their posts say here? because I did a google search and only found yoshi's statement saying they are looking into it.
Have they been effective? not really, but doesn't mean that they won't be. This game has been out for what? 1 month? other MMO's had worse issues and they solved them down the line. If you don't like the state of things right now then don't play till they fix them. I know it's not what you want to hear but it is what it is. Does it bother me? hell yes! I can't fight garuda because of it and have stopped trying, and I don't even want to try titan. Will I wait it out? yes, because I view this for the long term. Whatever you do, good luck!
The problem is not them being effective, I think everybody here understands things are not fixed in one night, and honestly, most people complaining about it are being constructive and "pacific", only VERY few are doing so in a "omg i'll unsubs!" or "FU FIX PLZ" manner.
People has been continuously reporting this, and they feel they're being ignored, and then the biggest post in the forums gets LOCKED with a random answer that clearly shows they haven't even bothered to read the first post.
They unlock the post, then say "oh sorry, we're happy to let you continue discussing end-game", when this post wasn't about end-game at all, clearly another sign they're not reading what people is posting in this huge thread.
Other issues (and not issues) are getting more attention than this (which isn't getting any at all), and this is what annoys people.
Hmm.
I've no issues with dodging out of AoEs - usually have more than enough time to get out of titan's puddles (Weights) and linepunch.
No problem doing all of Coil either.
Some people might want to look into the TCP Lag Fix for MMOs that fixes the Windows registry for TCP usage - it might not fix everything but it will help on YOUR end to fix what YOUR windows isn't doing right for a TCP MMO.
ok you are lucky and have an awesome connection! woohoo. Too bad I'm not you or near where you live so I can hire the same internet provider. See the thing is that it isn't an issue with our computers but with some random servers in our path that lag like crazy. There is a thread about it in technical support. If you really care enough then you should head over there.
I don't have issues dodging AE's there, killed Titan multiple times eating 0. But there are plenty of other facts that point to server issues (such as the ones listed below), the most evident ones being with character position and casting times, actions, etc. And they are constant.
heya all,
I am having this same problem too. I am at a very low level, but even in the first few dungeons and questing in the world I kept getting hit by aoe and I was way outside of the red circle. so now at least I understand why.
I wanted to point something out. I think (correct me if necessary) that the elephant relates to an American style joke (I am American). if there is a HUGE problem and everybody ignores it we kind of say, 'it is like the elephant in the room'. because everybody will know if there is an elephant in the room, and they can try to ignore it all they can, but it is very obvious.
in a similar way, as I think the elephant joke person was trying to point out, SE can try to ignore this problem all they want, but it is huge and game breaking. aoe damage stuff is an integral part of the current game, and not being able to dodge it because of poor game coding/design is gonna drive people away.
That's exactly right. I love this game and I would love to stay here and play for the 10 year lifespan Yoshida wants to have for it. However, this issue is, as you said, very obvious and very game breaking. I hope the right people (not moderators) actually read this and take a hard look at what's going on and how this can really hurt them in the long run.
Wait, so did they actually unlock this thread? Awesome. Too bad they make zero mention of this being a problem, let alone any intent to fix it.
Out of curiosity, where are you located in relation to the servers and what is your ping time to them? What speed is your up/down? Do you have a link for 'TCP lag fix' i'm not well versed in it and is there some software you would recommend? Maybe a guide? I guess SE should have included this stuff in the instruction manual ><;
I did try pingzapper and it made no difference. I have a ping of around 85-95ms from London, UK to Ragnarok. I'm on fibre optic. Unlimited 76/19.
Dear Yoshi-P, dear Devs, dear SE,
Could you please take a bit of your time and respond to your community with regards to the delay in server response re: positioning (i.e. we see ourselves outside of the AOE but are still hit by it):
- is it working as designed?
- is it a known issue and SE is working on it? If yes, by when do you expect a resolution?

Syah
rofl, that thread lock was funny telling people to post in the website feedback section
someone need to start a petition to remove Titan from the game.
"They unlock the post, then say "oh sorry, we're happy to let you continue discussing end-game", when this post wasn't about end-game at all"
Having the right topic title might have helped.
If I say I'm going to discuss flowers (topic title: flowers), and I only discuss one particular flower's ecosystem, well maybe someone will think the topic is still flowers generally, not just THAT flower. Endgame is more than just avoiding aoes, and more than just Titan HM, for example.
Don't you think mods should actually read the topic before locking it?
This hundred times this.
And most annoying is the fact that endgame groups started refusing people with bad luck for it to play with them.
I have average 90-120ms now it still happens as often as when i had 300ms+
Sure fixing the coding takes time but adding quick fix to aoe's themselves making them blow up second or half of second later would make this and any aoe happy fight doable.
+1 to this thread. Will keep it up until SE sees this.
Never realized moving was this much of an issue for ppl
SE, if you think that ignoring the issue (and worse, trying to deviate the subject on "endgame") will make it go away... think again:

While I do not disagree on proper formatting, many threads of more correct and exact titles had already existed with many of their own replies and opinions, possible fixes, etc; Those threads were equally ignored by SE, so as it is customary, a more provocative titles was used in hopes of grabbing attention. In terms of flowers, the mod did not just assume we were discussing one type of flower the mod saw flowers in the title and said 'So, I hear you're concerned about the environment'.
People are upset because the mod only bothered to read the title, that is like someone reading the cover of a book and guessing at the contents, they did not even read the dust-jacket. Format aside, there are other ways to know whether a thread might warrant more than a casual glance at the title, perhaps the three quarters of one hundred pages of concerned players wishing they could enjoy the game.
Defending anyone, especially someone who holds a position of authority and supposedly represents SE, for exhibiting this kind of at best, extreme laziness, at worst severe and debilitating incompetence, can only be an exercise in charity. One cannot blame the paint for the boat sinking, the rust should have been a clue.
The intent of this thread was to discuss how endgame is broken because of the netcode (getting hit by AoE prior to endgame is annoying but not game breaking.) After the great additions from the community, the subject has broadened to talk about the netcode in general. This is why the title references endgame.
Thanks for unlocking the thread.
The majority of people saying there's no problem seem to make the case "I can avoid it, therefore everyone else must be bad."
It's weird that you can be good at split-second reactions yet lack the perception to notice all the very real problems the OP is talking about.
I dodge everything. My FC is done with Turn 4. I am very good at this game. I also notice and acknowledge the massive coding lag, poorly synced spell/cleave animations, delay in other player animations, constant "you are too far away" messages on moving targets unless you're half a foot in front of the mob, etc. All of those problems exist, as well as the "instant abilities are only instant as long as you don't interrupt a precious attack animation" mechanic. Makes interrupting things really fun.
Overall, the responsiveness in this game is garbage, and if they release PvP while the game is in this mechanical state, it will be the most widely criticized and laughed at attempt at success since Diablo 3.
