Odd. Can you post a screenshot of yourself in the same position as the screenshot in this thread? It might help working out what's up.

get on the fence on the roof of the building next to it and jump there with the chocobo (the sprint probably works too)
thats how i did it
i need more info on 080 please i cant figure it out how to get to that tree.

as stated before, climb the debris behind it, then just jump to the tree, but be careful its easy to jumpover from there :P
start at bottom-right corner of the screenshot
Yup. If you can get to the first metal 'rib', you should be able to jump toward a tiny foothold edge-on to the shell. From there you can jump onto the back of the shall and run up to the top, leap off and land in the tree.
How low is the chance for cloudy weather in Gridania? I have done 19 out of the first batch of 20 sightseeings but am stuck since days because the weather is never ever cloudy in Gridania. And I even have 2 chances because weather for it changes at 4 PM while the spot is still open and it remains open till 5 PM. But still, never ever. :-(
I remember the cloudy weather happened about three times in the first three game-days of the patch - it was a sticking point for a lot of players so stay with it!
The major test of patience was originally #018, but even in the main bulk of the sites it's down to pure luck. I myself got stuck in Coerthas waiting for anything but snowy weather for ages.
Hopefully, post-#020, the spreadsheet will help co-ordinate your attempts and minimise any missed opportunities. Good luck and happy hunting! That Apkallu will be yours before you know it. :)
I want the Apkallu so I will stick with it for sure. :d I hope they release the Weather Forecast NPC they talked about some time ago, it would make things a lot easier. But otherwise, Sightseeing is Fun. Always something to do if you are bored or have a limited time slot while you wait for other things to start. I think I made half of them waiting in Ramuh Ex parties to start haha.
#71 just a note, there are stair inside the building at the top of the tower that are much easier to use then going around the outside.
As an aside, I arrived at spot #79 at Rathefrost at 2pm Clear and I couldn't flag the spot, though it was in the 12-5pm bloc. I came back another time and it flagged at 12:30 just fine. Perhaps it is a shorter window?
Out of curiosity, has anyone on PS3 been able to finish the log? There are some locations I just can't seem to make the jump to on PS3, but when I play at friends on their PC or PS4 I can make the jumps.
I've done them all on PS3.
1 position remaining then I am done with the Sightseeing Logs. One hint for nr. 48 because I for once had massive problems with getting this Jump right: do it with a friend. Whoever is the first to make the jump should stay on top of the log. The other one dies intentionally (lots of Ixali around) and then the one on the log can revive the other player and he will be warped nicely onto the log so both can complete it.
Just want to say thank you to the thread author and the multiple contributors to the information. This thread was a great help figuring out some of the harder vistas.
Works with "Showers" as well.Quote:
#018 "Merciful are the rains that fall, for they give great succor to the thirsting land, and comfort the old wounds of one who journeyed too far from home." Such were the botanist's words, and I would see as she saw.
Eastern Thanalan: Drybone (19, 24) | Dusk (5pm to 6pm) | Rain | /comfort [Arche Koeln - Sargatanas]
Specifics: Under a tree in front of the Goobbue carcass. This weather event is very rare and with a 1hr game-time window, make sure you get it if you see it's coming up!
(Thank heavens or I would have been camping there for another few days).
I found my first "vista" but I'm not sure what to do about it. Can anyone help me? I know all the details have to be exact but what do I do when the time, place, and weather are all there?
