Yeah, no...
I dont know. I like slower-paced battles.
I think 2.5 sec is the perfect amount of time.
I originally would have agreed with the OP on this, but after being a tank and tanking the dungeons that I've come across so far, I have to say that this is a nice change of pace - being able to actually concentrate on the fight rather than mashing buttons as fast as possible.
When soloing my first 10 levels it did feel very slow, but as time moved on, I have to say that I do like this speed.
I do not have a problem with the cooldown, but I do have an issue with some of the instant skills I have not being instant. My warrior stun cannot be used if in animation, and when I do use it the stun in not instant. This makes it diffucult to stun some of the quicker casts. It is the same thing with my defensive cooldowns if I have to use one quickly I can't because I am in the middle of a swing.
I like the game and my friends like the game but the combat speed was too slow for me. The solution I came up with? Be a monk so my gcd is shorter. Although I would prefer a 1-1.5 sec gcd, having a 2.3 sec gcd is better than a 2.5 sec gcd (haven't gotten greased lightning 3 yet).
Have no problem with the cool down, coming from GW2 its actually a welcome break.
COMBAT IS TOO FAST, and already has too much stupid nonsense that complicates combat beyond necessity, like Astral Fire/Umbral Ice, or the futility of auto-attack when you have to hit 1/2/3 every second and a half anyway.
Man, people... Dualboxing is already not viable half the time(and extremely taxing the other half), if it were any faster one would hardly be able to eat or hear what their loved ones are telling them with one character at a time. If I wanted something like that, I would start Medal of Honor back up, not play a game that involves real-time communication and long-distance networking.
This is my thought as well. I don't care much about the GCD as it is; however, the only thing I would like added are either a few more moves off the GCD and/or fix the lag on moves that are off the GCD. I used a potion last night in a dungeon, since I had low health. The potion went on cooldown, and 1.5 seconds later I was dead without ever gaining any health. A few moves (like my stun) works instantly before the animation finishes, but apparently potions don't do that.
