You are absolutely right. Germany sucked and what germany did in the past was really bad.

Now the US can maybe also try to make themself better and don't drop nukes on civilians or start stupid wars and burn their soldiers out so they can throw them on the streets until they end their own lifes. We were bad, we are better now for it. Now you do the same. xD

You're free to interpret whether or not he's a great man for doing what he did, in the way that he did it, but I prefer not to sweep history under the rug even if it can have the slightest chance of being interpreted like that.

I don't think that wording it in a more clear manner would be sweeping it under the rug.....
I am pretty sure that he devastated both Europe AND his own country in the end.

It's true that he did do a lot of things to build Germany up during that time but you were referring to today.
The way you're framing things make it sound like he was responsible for making Germany a great country today.

Edit: On that note too in defense of Germany, Germans have a lot of national shame in regards to this and have actually learned from their past.
If you want to talk about sweeping things under the rug and not taking responsibility for wrong-doings then your criticism is pretty misdirected..
Especially when we're talking about today.

Lalafell are literally just a race of little people meant to evoke an image of the 2d sprites from the older Final Fantasy games. That's it.

I stopped watching him before he said that so I didn't catch it till later. It's such an annoying mindset that commonly paints people who play as Lalafell as inherently 'suspicious'.

I dunno what particular thing he said when you heard him say it, but whenever I've heard him say it he has also said that he's not talking about all Lalafell players but very specifically the ones who do play them for alterior motives.
I mean Rich Campbell who is another Streamer he's friends with plays a Lalafell and they're probably even getting married ingame lol.

It's hard to be right when everyone else is wrong, I know. Bad people have good ideas, good people have bad ideas. NA is not the "best" America is the "best".

The prisons in the U.S. are for profit, the more inmates they have the more money they make which means they have every incentive to not only not help inmates but to harm them or treat them in such a way that they stay in the system.
They're definitely not great or even good but is that one of the top 10 things any average joe thinks off the top of his head when asked about America? No.
Even if we were to base it off of a shit list America's Health Care would be at the top with prisons probably being only in the top 20.

We have free speech too there are just more limitations on it mostly revolving hate speech.
And as you said yourself your own government wants to limit it too and there are A LOT of people in NA who do want to limit speech they don't like.
There's people who literally want to throw people in jail for burning flags or saying bad things about the US...
And swearing is still a controversial thing in NA to the point that movies have swear words quotas, they actually count how many swear words are allowed before the rating is increased which guess what leads to censorship of speech in media.

If you think that people being allowed to call people the N-word or something makes the US the greatest country then I dunno that's your opinion I guess.
If you actually start looking through stats on anything that doesn't have to do with the military I think you'd have a really hard time arguing in favor of your position there because it's just objectively not true.

The US having the position it does today has a lot to do with other factors, for one it was pretty much untouched from two world wars except for Pearl Harbor that devastated the developed world and a very large portion of which populations then moved to the US.
Which is because America is separated from the rest of the world by an ocean.

I'm not defending the prisons, his statement just wasn't true.
Unless you have The First Amendment you do not have free & protected speech you have speech the government lets you use until it's inconvenient.
China & North Korea have the "Free Speech" you're speaking of. It just so happens they enforce it.
And when things start to go awry and people are getting arrested for complaining about people getting arrested you'll wonder what speech you even thought you had.
Hate speech & inciting violence have always been a target for exception in free speech and it's also why people try to blanket speech they don't like as one of the two. There's a fine line.
Being racist isn't protected under free speech, but redefining the definition of "Racism" isn't okay either, same with inciting violence.
The most controversial thing in America is nudity.
There are no swear words that represent a unique feeling that cannot be represented without them, censorship of an idea is what matters not words themselves.

As I said America can and does lose to many other countries in certain aspects but because American is the only country with The First Amendment it is on an entirely different level, a qualitative difference.
It's an idea physically manifested above the rest.
America could be literally in civil unrest, collapsing cities, towns burning, nuclear fallout and it would still be better than any other country without The First Amendment.
Now would that be fun to live in? No. Would I want to live in a place with such dire straights? No. I would move to some place that isn't America.

Any other country could've decided that they wanted to be as great as America, any other country could've decided that they wanted to better than America, but none of them have and until they do they will never be better.
It has nothing to do with resources, location, power, populace, or viability. It's an idea.

Also people who want other people to go to jail for burning flags are crazy.

While he certainly is not solely responsible for everything good that's ever happened to Germany, especially after his defeat and death, sadly, I can't think that Germany would be in any where near as good of a position as it is today without him and what he'd done for and to the country. The good, the horrible, and even the terrible.

The German proverb of "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones" was the purpose of my reply.
Do not turn my unemotional reminder of a country's history to a specific individual, who had previously made comments with intent to disparage another country (for something that their own country is historically known for), into an emotional statement about an entire country and their people being something that you're wanting to provide and pre-fill the blanks for me on.

However, it occurred to me after making the reply that the person is actually just trolling, so it wasn't really worth all this effort.

With that, though, let's resume the original topic. I've previously replied, but I'll add that my best friend's fiance plays one, while she plays a Roe. They got married in-game, and it was an interesting experience to see it all play through, but there was a statement about her butt being big enough that it could basically engulf all of his Lalafell body, that he may have said really loud in our skype call (at the time) when he played with his camera and ended up zooming in to an un(?)fortunate angle. We make jokes about that, in both directions, to this day.

So the US can do all the bad things cause other countries were bad too? Damn that are some great moral standards.

But you fellas prove my point and yes i am glad i can live over here. And you can live over there.

But to get back to the topic, we have to meet on neutral ground and that is on XIV where SE rules count which are heavily influenced by japanese culture for which i am thankful.
