How I handle said bitterness might not be the best course, but you'd be mad too if you were kicked out of parties for not being a roleplayer, or refused to have gear repaired because you weren't a roleplayer, or the like. As much of a troll I can be at times, there's always a pinch of truth in what I say. FFXI RPers weren't nearly as bad as this incarnation's.

Um... Sorry if you have a problem you should take it up with the people causing it? I mean there are a million excuses for meanness, but it's still mean. And if you're apologizing to the good people who happened to RP, why not back it up by stop calling them names. "Sorry you got slaughtered by my mindlessly spraying word bullets but I can't help being a crazed maniac because a couple people didn't want to play with me on a computer game."

Sorry, I'm out.. I'm not taking that risk. Have you seen the stuff these Besaid RP'ers post on their lodestone blogs? People on Fabul are concerned right now because most want to go to a normal server but they don't want their shells to crack either and it makes then have to make hard choices.

it is a hard choice that people will have to make

Balmung WILL NEVER be the "official" RP server
they will eventualy make a new server for RP that RPists will have to choose to transfer to

itl be the same exact way they did the EU server now


and yeah, communitys will fall apart because of it, some will want to go, others will not
some people will value the friendships they have who are staying over those who are leaving

I think this applies to any situation where you have to make that kinda choice though, it may apply to the EU players a bit less since thats more of a timezone thing, but itl still apply.

It doesn't matter if it's official(tm) or not. If Besaid was normal we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Do you see anywhere else people saying "Oh, Melmond isn't *that* bad"?

Also that works in reverse.. people value the friendship with those that are leaving too.

I truly feel for Fabul. As bad as this is going to sound, you guys are going to get swarmed and infested. I'm not even trying to troll here...it's just a huge thing to have the core of your server changed overnight to accomodate people who thrust their lifestyles upon you without due choice. Besides, I thought Besaid was active enough to stand alone...?

I'm happy to be merging with Besaid. For those leaving, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Do we really need 20 pages of discussion on this? If you don't want to be on Balmung, you have the opportunity to pick a different server, do so. So, what's the problem?

I believe alot of the issue is that alot of the RPist showed there true colors on the thread about demanding an official RP server. They insulted and bashed anyone that disagreed with them, and if any of the terms they used were used back towards them, they went ape ****. There post raised alot of eye brows.
