A person could also not withstand none of the blows Ifrit or Batraal deals and yet none complains about that being unrealistic. In my opinion, the weapons look great, the size is great seeing that Ifrit is huge, his horns would be huge too, the weapons, like everything on this game is very detailed, they are not 'just' big weapons.

Please developers, continue with the great job you are doing, the weapons are amazing.

Edit: To everyone comparing the designs with other games I tell you this: One thing I don't like about some FINAL FANTASY fans is they think they are above other players in terms of taste, they feel they are refined gamers above all others and therefore inspiration from other franchises can not come into their beloved FF. I love the tip they might have taken from Monster Hunter (I feel this is where they go this, Yoshida being a fan of the games) when designing this weapons. I say keep at it and apply the FF spin to it. I am looking forward to new armour found in other FF's too.

I am a huge FF fanboy, so my intention is not to be negative because I love this game to death but, I actually agree with the OP. They are too bulky and tacky looking. They looked like a 3D modeler at SE made them ALL in one night... I would have been happier if they were "traditional" looking weapons that glowed red. Just an ounce of constructive criticism, that's all.

I'm just glad that they toned down the glow to make it not so WoW-ish. SE seems like they are getting their act together on many things and it seems that many people are getting side tracked on the overall problem of content and focusing on the smaller issue of cosmetics. Let the Devs do their stuff and just enjoy the game. Heck, it's still free to play after a year from release. If anything the Devs should create a job called "QQ".

I like the style and new look. I agree that some of the weapons try to hard powerful, thus increasing their size to unwieldy proportions! For instance, That Archer bow couldn't be lifted by anyone but a Roegydan! :P

But what I have the biggest problem with is the glow effect. It flashes to much. It needs to have a slow, undulating pulse like a lava flow. Not a steady pulse like a heartbeat! It would look far more ominous if it was nice, slow gradually got brighter.

I would also like to see them emit their own light source! :D But I feel that may be asking to much and cause problems with system resources if to many were in one area!

Still gotta admit it would be cool! :D

ppl thinking the weapons would be to heavy to lift remember they are made mostly for bone not metal

If we go over to scientific faqs if weapons would become stronger cause the material are harder the strongest it would mean more density which would mean MORE weight, like what is stronger metal or reinforced porcelain.....you will be surprised, porcelain is harder same is with bone the more dense something is the harder, heck ICE would be the most strong weapon if you could freeze compressed water for it would have twice the density of a diamond

Actually, I'd just like to point out that the Feedback & Suggestions forum is for feedback about the site, not the game. Says so right there in the sticky that no one ever reads. >_>

Anyway, as to the weapons: I like them overall, though I do think that the PGL weapon is a little disproportionate. To everyone saying that the bow should be sleek because ARC is all about being fast and lithe and such, I challenge you to watch the animation for Bloodletter and tell me that it's not about getting every ounce of pull you can out of your bow. >_>

I hate the design of the H2H, Bow and Sceptre. I'm not gonna rage or quit over it, there's tons of gear in XI that I hated but either I avoid/had to wear it because they were good.

Most of you guys/girls will never get your hands on these weapons anyway. Most the people on Lindblum still don't have a Verdant Short-bow....What hope do you have with Ifrit weapons lol. But really keep on bitching about something you will never have :)
