If we can find someone who fed theirs 3x berries we will know. If they get Cork Brown, then it does indeed count the last ones, as I fed mine 3 apples and then 3 berries and didn't get Millioncorn Yellow.

Id' really like to know what the color scheme for the Iris Purple Dye is, since I want my Chocobo to have that dye ;_;

This Pumpkin Orange is interesting; given my previous assumptions, that would be [=, -66, -66] from [216, 175, 80] would be [216, 109, 14]. Pumpkin Orange is [193, 109, 31]. That's a reasonably small variance, Δ40. So I would say you can, in fact, feed as many of a single item as you like and still get the desired effect.

I fed my Chocobo 3 berries in a row without exiting the menu or anything and left him for 6 hours, but then trained him right afterwards... he didn't change color...

IF our current theory is correct, you want:

5 O'Ghomoro Berries
17 Cieldalaes Pineapples

I wouldn't jump on it quite just yet though, there are a lot of holes in our theory still. In particular, can you feed both of those at the same time and get the right result? Looks like yes, but we don't know for sure. Also, we could just be flat wrong (it's looking less and less likely though).

According to your theory, what would I need to feed to get Dalamud Red?

But if I'm not mistaken, the Berries deepen Blue hues while the Pineapples lighten them.
Wouldn't I negate the effect those 5 Berries would give me with 5 of those Pineapples?

As soon as I get online, and can possibly buy some, I'm going to feed my bird doman plums until I get the first feather message. Then I will feed it again to see if I can get it a second time. Personally shooting for a Hunter Green bird.
