I actually can't blame you at all, in fact I pretty much did the same. The fact is if you are unwilling to transfer you just shrunk your pool of potential candidates by a ridiculous amount and the pool is already small to begin with, clearly, considering you pretty much see the same people here. Most of the people that return do so either because they dealt with some drama (like you and I) or enjoy drama (serial daters, people just trying to get others to pay for their weddings, etc. or a few dating police that feel like they got screwed over and now they want to tell everyone else how people should fit into a box and if they don't then clearly they are cheaters, creepers, etc.)

In my experience meeting people in your own server just by natural normal means, hanging out, doing stuff...is the best way.

Oh and one last piece of advice. A simple "Hello" goes a very long way toward helping you to your goal. Hoping someone is just going to notice you isn't the answer.

I have nothing against playing a character that's a different gender than your own and it's not an issue if we're just playing together as friends but when it comes to EB and beyond I would rather have a partner that plays the same gender, i.e. male playing a male character or female playing a female character.

and i have been reading through some of the things that have been going on and i m like wth


since when has this turned into a dating tread some people want a partner too play the game with some have preferences for a girl and some for a guy it does not mean anything in most cases
as for me i have been looking for a female too play with just as personal preference being that i am more comfortable around a female intellect
i do not seek for relationship outside of the game since that wont work out anyway cause of the circumstances i live in

all i ever have been looking for is a Friend too play the game that can help me with stuff and i can help them with stuff and just get too know each other and have fun and maybe EB if that person really wants too

There are many issues I see in this thread and why it might not work for a lot of people. For example:

-People using the thread as if it was an RL dating service. While there is always the possibility that something in-game could become an RL thing, this is not the purpose of the thread.

-People seeking to troll, or otherwise hurt others for their own enjoyment. Or simply people that like the drama.

-Dishonest people that do not disclose certain information that should be disclosed (i.e. are you married in RL?) While the thread is not an RL dating service, the fact that something in game could potentially escalate into RL requires honesty and disclosure.

-People whose only purpose seems to be attacking others' posts for whatever reason. Maybe they had a bad experience of their own and now work hard to derail anything in any way possible
The purpose of the thread is NOT to voice your personal opinions on other peoples' posts. I've seen threads be attacked for NOT disclosing information, (such as being married in RL), and threads being attacked for actually disclosing the same information (and usually, it's the same people attacking both types of threads,which support my statement that their purpose is not to help,but simply to destroy others' efforts and prevent them from finding an in-game partner on here).

-People that find it "offensive" when someone actually has a preference between in-game sex and RL sex. Surprise! Some of us play our characters as an extension of ourselves, and just like some of us wouldn't make a "partner" of a certain sex in RL, the same applies to the in-game character. Like you said it's a matter of "intellect". I could play a female character in-game but most definitely a male personality would shine through when I talk to you. Once again,the thread is not so that you can voice your personal opinion on the matter. Like it? Great! Don't like it? Move on.

-People that do not respect the above stated preferences. If a lady wants another lady, seriously guys,stay away. Same goes the other way around.

Basically the way I see it is: IF people are being honest and very clear on what to,or not to expect from them, it's a simple matter of reading it and either being interested or not interested.
Sadly, a lot of people that would otherwise want to respond to some of the genuine ads on here don't because they are turned off by some of the reasons outlined above.

I am a good example of someone that was "turned off" by some of these reasons. I had a post at some point that was concise, honest and direct with clear directives on what could or could not be expected. But someone decided that they had to go and bash that post (same person that bashed a post earlier because it was the opposite of mine, aka dishonest), so I eventually decided that it was a waste of time.

Like others have said, you might be better off just talking to people in your server and who knows what you might run into. :)

Joking aside, it really does seem hard to find other girls into girls online. Every time I run into one on the game, it ends up being a dude pretending to be a chick. There's a surprising amount of them on FFXIV, but I'm willing to bet it's any MMO.

They are out there. It's just dudes go bat shat crazy when they figure out it's a female out there.
They try to hide it because it gets ridculous to be honest. Folk be like dogs with their
tongues out their mouths. You can really catch the dude's in RP
if you see them as a Futa. That's a straight up dude lol.

But yeah, girls have been harassed so much in many MMO's.
People tend to get super creepy so they just hide. If people learn
to chill out when a female in the room, we wouldn't be so scared to hide.

Yeah pretty much. I don't RP, personally. I'm just not creative enough for it, but in general playing Miqote or Au Ra (and I've been both races), people tend to be a little more creeper-ish than when I am my usual Lala self. XD
