Last night was another tedious run of Monastery (love the raid but good parties can make or break it, and I'm running it daily until my friend and I each get Ramza.)
Constant wipes, two alliances nearly dead after every AOE and full dead after anything big. Luckily, you could tell that most people wanted to learn, after the first wipe on Agrius I started explaining mechanics as we went and while we wiped on every boss, they each got progressively better. Luckily we got everybody up for the Ruination dps check on Ultima, so we got our checkpoint.
I don't love groups like that, but I'm glad to find ones that want to listen, not troll or rage quit. Did have an overeager tank that would not stop taking the debuff tether onOzmaCid. I'm glad you wanna do your job, I really am, but for that part you're not saving the dps xD

Decided to try and get some tomes on my RDM so que'd up for 70 roulette as said class I get into Temple of the Fist with a DRK/WHM/Another RDM, the RDM is really undergeared ilvl 280 pieces with artifact gear, has a sprout so its probably his first time, we pull and the tanks struggling with threat and getting chunked running around deciding if he wants to get more. Tank grabs more and eats dirt, okay round 2 we get it done and kill first boss, after that the tank is just pulling awkwardly and the other RDM is barely AoEing, worse yet I start AoEing and using Enchanted Moulinets back to back and almost die.
2nd boss is where it really takes the cake, I use Diverson at the start and do my DPS rotation everyone and I mean EVERYONE is just eating every single damage down and eating vulens I'm the only one doing any kind of DPS, I pull threat, Lucid Dreaming to cut my threat and the fight goes on for another 5 mins ugh. I tell em you can dodge these by Port is front and back to dodge, and the other one is side to side, nothing.
After that mess we pull the next pack, I pull threat and have to twiddle my thumbs again, then the final pack riiiight before the boss the tank just dies in 5 seconds, everyone's quiet then I tell em I'll LB since I couldn't because the tank went down like a sack of potatoes. The RDM gets super mad and just starts going off at me like "LB won't do much LOL" i'm like okay well tanks got CDs, tank doesn't pop any CDs and dies as I LB and the RDM just goes off in chat "LOL GO BACK TO WOW YOUR STUPID LB DID 2 DMG". We exchange words I'm like LB is great in big groups, you're a sprout you'll use it a lot, he then says "this is my second alt so blow me" I'm just like y'know i'm gonna be that person and kick them because they're being really rude.
I go to kick em, gets rejected, I try a second time once again rejected, I look in party chat and realize they're all from the same server (que'd together) and then I get kicked. Feels great man that I was doing most of the work and even saved the tank with Vercures because the healer was getting beat on as well as saving my sorry hide while I have to cover for subpar 600 DPS on a RDM but I guess those are the cards you're dealt with when you're doing everyone's job and then you get kicked for it.
The worst part is his RDMs rotation was Jolt > Jolt > AFK > Hardcast Verthunder/Veraero I only saw Contre Sixte twice and never Scattered but it's okay this is his 2nd account. -

I joined Rid to gain one of my coins today, playing as SCH. I took a look at the members and I saw there was a WHM in my party, AST/WHMs in the other party. I thought 'great, we all balance well, this should be a good healing run'.
Until it became very clear that my cohealer had no intention of healing. From the first boss up until the start of Construct 7, I see not a single healing spell come out of her. No medica I, no Cure, no medica II, no other signs of healing. Just stone and aero spammed over and over. Aware that Construct 7 can be messy without a cohealer, I politely asked her in the chat if she could heal a little more coz I'd not seen her cast even one healing spell yet. She immediately claimed that she had been healing the entire time, apparently unaware that I can see every heal she casts, if she casts them, and that everyone else can see when she uses medica II. As if to prove her point, she immediately clicked medica II, even though there was no need for it at that moment, coz no one was taking damage.
She started healing pretty well after that, so I didn't bother replying any further. As far as I was concerned, it was mission accomplished, she was supporting me now.
And then I get the snarky comment and run at the end: "Fyi, dont need to spam medica II to be healing"
Do need to use it at least once though! -

So, of the job types I tend to do the healing ones the least. I like WHM a good bit and my SCH is only 70 because of SMN. AST, meanwhile, is still sub-60 so trying to level it up.
Que up in Trial Rol and get Ravana NM. Three people or so are new, thats fine it shouldn't be too tough. And even without remember the mechanics exactly it isn't for the first phase! Tank does get a little lower than I liked at times but no problems. Cinematic attack happens, Ravana goes to do his push back and everything is fi---what happened to the other healer?
Co-healer ended up blasted off and since HW was still the time were ring out=no revive, it was just me. For most of the rest of the fight it was fine even with this, though at that point I wished I was on regen sect instead of shield sect. Then one person died, Swiftcast+ressed them...which wasn't a good idea because by the time I got back to the MT they died. From there it cascades violently as the boss cleaves half the group and somehow not me, I try to keep people up but the other tank ends up dieing too. Since a dps had used the LB already prior to this I can't use that, so there is only one saving grace. The boss is at/less than 1% so I pour my DPS on while also getting a shield on myself as the last DPS dies.
And it works! We won! My healing wasn't enough to keep everyone up but it was enough to hold out for the win. Now to try and focus more on healing in any trials from now on when its leveling just in case. -

Is there some new trend I'm missing in WHM that sacrifices medica II? Tonight was the second Orbonne run I've had with a WHM who didn't want to use anything other than medica and cure II, and it's exhausting. I know the fights well enough to keep my own group up but as the other 2 alliances invariably half-wipe on every mechanic it straps me because I'm usually trying to rez their rezzers, too.

A few days ago on Saint Mocciane's Arbtorem(Hard) I've met what's possibly the saltiest samurai in all of Eorzea.
Usually on this dungeon I see most parties AOE LB the ads after the second boss to save time since u can build it up on the coming boss
I was running BRD during it so I used an LB on the ads and the samurai shouted in all caps "WHYYYYYYYY".Me and the party were like "dude we can build it up on the boss,this place is easy"
So we get to the boss,he doesn't LB when we were close to killing the boss so I LBed again to kill the boss.And this is where the samurai lost it and started throwing F-Bombs at me so I reported him and went on my way but I can't forget how flabbergasted the tank and healer were at him as they were thanking me the same time he threw the F-Bomb and were like wtf xD.
I find this kinda hilarious cuz up until now I've never seen anyone get salty over LBs in a dungeon up until now especially when it was a clean run with no wipes but the more y'know I guess xD. -

Obviously a caster LB would've been better but with BRD and SAM in the party you're better off using AoE LB on trash than you are saving it so that some dumb weeb can get his cool anime finisher move in right at the end of the final boss.Quote:

Guildhest roulette as my alt's novice AST. We get "Stinging Back", the hest that requires you to deal with adds and concentrate on the enemy conjurers. I think the DPSes were rogue and archer - not that I had much time to look.
The tank plunges in without even waiting for Protect, picks up three or four groups of enemies at once, and it's non-stop healing and so much Esuna.
Time to fight the boss, and the tank has no interest in tanking any of the adds or picking up the ones that are targeting the rest of the party.
I die and have to warp back to the start, as I watch the archer's HP drop perilously low. Sprinting back, I come within range just in time to save them, I'm back in control of the healing, all good other than the tank still ignoring everything.... and then they start getting snarky.
"See the 1 marker?" they ask - and sure enough the boss has been marked. (I literally hadn't seen it before, but I wouldn't have paid attention to it if I did.)
"See the adds?" I reply.
"We would have been done ages ago if you just attacked the boss. Do you even know how to healer?"
(...yes, yes I do. That's why the rest of the party is alive despite your strategy.)
I started typing a response inbetween healing spells that the reason it's taking so long is because they're not dealing with the adds that are the entire point of the guildhest, but then the fight was over and of course they were gone the second it was finished. -

I just subbed again a couple of days ago, after unsubbing at the end of last November. So it's fair to say, I'm a bit out of practice and was given returner status, and decided to catch up with the recent story patch and the Ghimlyt Dark. I usually only do new content with Hubby, but he's not subbed at the moment, so I decided to be brave and tackle the DF myself.
I'd lost the returner symbol by accidentally becoming a mentor (technically trade only, but my goodness, I really had no idea that's all it took to get a crown, but that's for another topic), but announced at the start it was my first run through of the place, plus the first dungeon in quite a while, so be nice, etc. Party is BRD (me), BRD (other DPS), WAR and... a healer. Actually don't remember which it was, but probably WHM, because I don't recall any Astro card buffs nor a fairy. First timers in the dungeon being me and the other bard Also, I hate it when it's another bard. I wish there was something that stopped that from happening.
So to start off, I'm not exactly spectacular, but tank and healer seem fine, other bard isn't the worst, but I think they stopped using songs because I might have overwritten them once or twice (I'm so sorry!!), but I don't think we overall worked particularly well together, because the tank said the damage was woeful (I paraphrase). I did my absolute best to up my game, and despite a couple of deaths and a couple of wipes, I was actually happy with how I picked it back up on my side of things. It was not my best performance by a long shot, but it felt a bit more like the way I was going when I unsubbed - and for a first run through I'm not going to beat myself up too much about it.
I thanked the party and also said thanks for the reminder about actually doing some damage (I was not being sarcastic, either). Other bard says something about bards not doing much damage anyway. I don't say anything to this, because, um, I don't feel too qualified, but I happened to agree that the damage wasn't all that initially and I knew I, at least, had to get my act together. Afterwards, I checked the other bard's stuff out on the Lodestone. They had an i340 bow. The rest of the gear wasn't awful - but I always thought your weapon level was something you'd want as high as you can possibly manage, otherwise you can't mumble stuff about your job/class/whatever not doing damage. Please, someone, tell me I'm wrong, and it doesn't work how I thought it worked. I'm okay with being wrong and learning something new and useful.
Otherwise, good simple dungeon, only ruined by the fact that I'm not able to take Aymeric out of it with me. Anyhoo, I'm leaving the DF alone until Hubby subs again.
