Dislikes: Dishonesty and emotional manipulation. And sports. Don't really like sports, so don't expect any deep conversations on that (I'll still talk about it if it's what you want to talk about). But I'm pretty easy going and a lot of things don't particularly bother me.

Game Goals: To have fun (isn't that why we're all playing after all?)

Goals for the marriage: Someone to hang out with and have a good time with. Definitely would like to find someone to run Stormblood content with. Needs meh a BFF to enjoy my time/game with.

Hello! First off, I'd like to say that I'm a returning player (I haven't made it very far in the game, but I have 270 days subscribed, somehow... dafuq.) and I'm looking for a companion to jump back into the game with.

There's a difference from most posts here, though, in that I don't have a character. I'm starting over, and I'm open to my companion helping to decide the gender/race/looks of my character. I'm hoping this is a fruitful and interesting experience -- looking for someone who can be a good gaming friend for FFXIV and outside the game.

I play a lot of games, watch anime and TV shows/movies, so having another person to do that stuff with would be pretty sweet. But not required, this post is aimed mostly at FFXIV. Anyway, here's my details! I gotta make two damn posts. My apologies, but the 1000 character limit is harsh.

Age/Sex: 31/Male
Server: Any server besides EU, high ping man!
Willing to transfer? Won't be necessary, given the conditions here.
Personal Interests: Gaming, programming, cooking, clothes, anime, obscure movies and shows, swimming.
Play schedule: I'm GMT+8, an American based in the Philippines, but my work is based in Washington DC, so my hours are all over the place! I'll make time, though.
What kind of gamer are you: Hardcore when I need to be, but generally I'm VERY casual. I'm getting back into this game in particular for the story and the community.

Do you care if the player in real life is not the same gender as their character? No way man! A woman playing a male character would be pretty cool, especially, but nothing is a deal breaker here. I do get along better with females in general, but no requirements on that front.

Main class?: I tend to prefer magical classes in most games, but I plan on leveling everything in time. I'll determine my main as time goes on, and depending on your main class as well.

As a guy who plays the game for fun I have seen many friends in the past get stalked by desperate loners that made the game uncomfortable. Even when it's a guy playing a female character!! Most people give creepy vibes due to their lack of socialization, and desperation in the real world.
Sometimes (But not advised) calling them out, or reporting may help.

My point is that she didn't make it a requirement that she wanted a female. She used the word prefer meaning not required but wanted. So how can you get upset when people come if they think they got a shot?

I'm pretty sure "I prefer other girls" is used because it's the nice/easy way to say "No guys". I would think it's pretty obvious for people that the person likes other girls but guys tend to answer regardless of whether or not they say "girls preferred" or "girls only". Hoping that maybe they might be the exception.

One, I didn't make up the dictionary I'm only saying what is a fact. The word preference means leaving a door half way closed. This does not mean it is closed so don't be surprised when people try coming in. As for the second part besides the pint that there are like 4 girls in this 776 page thread girls don't need to respond to guys who want other guys they have a pool over hundreds guys have a pool of a few select few.

If the door is half open that doesn't mean you're actually allowed or wanted in the house. Someone who isnt desperate for money won't rob you. Someone who is desperate will : p.

Also the pool isn't a select few xD. Girls are here all the time. They are either scared off, not interested in them or quit this.

Like I said there have been girls playing male characters with the same description, but those guys follow their preferences (woman in and out of game) and avoid others. They even contacted guys who play female characters thinking they were women cuz those guys left them app vague, too =P

@magic nap, yes there are more women looking for a partner than the amount that we see. Most women just prefer to read people application and see who might look compatible. Other women tried already and all the guys they contacted were not suitable.

I stated prefer because yes, there is a .05% chance that there's a guy I might be willing to EB with. The other 99.5% of guys who have added me though are people I wouldn't even read messages from. My original post that I keep bumping uses the term "prefer" because I originally thought I might find a guy who's pretty chill on here. Should've figured otherwise; it's a forum for a MMO. No offense, but it's true - there's a lot of thirsty dudes lurking here like it's a buffet of girls to pick from. I guess I should change my wording since I have little faith that it'll change anytime soon. Still, you're right; you can try, but it doesn't mean you should, because your chances are slimmer since I've obviously stated I prefer one gender over the other. This. I also chose a more sensitive wording due to the fact that there have been people in this thread who get their panties in a bunch (again these guys who tend to act chauvinistic by disregarding girls' preferences) when a girl prefers another girl. I've seen someone post about it once or twice, thus I also tried to go for something that wouldn't trigger these types. It's funny because I don't see any guys who state that they prefer females (which, as stated by Jumper, is basically saying please be courteous and respect preference) being called out by @Unsung, yet there's a ton of them. It just happens that a girl who has a preference is the problem, huh?

All I was trying to say was that by saying preference you leave the possibility so people might try and because of it you get people messaging you.
