Dude... i swear after these 2 events, i refuse to jump into and duty finder solo and to be paired with just about any sam or rdm
I got worse stories then this to be honest lol
I think The Final Steps is the first time players encounter the stack marker as part of an MSQ duty. Some other optional HW duties like the Warring Triad and Mhachi raids have them, but if a new player is just rushing through the MSQ then they may not get to see the mechanic until Nidhogg. Mentors messing up the mechs are a completely different story though, let's not go there!
Saying that.... the amount of players going in to and doing SB duties yet still don't recognize what to do with the stack marker really make you wonder sometimes.
Thats fun until youre in final steps of fate, Alphascape II or smt like that where the ahk morn just blasts player after player till all are dead xD
Had this several times ad Middy, tanks run to the other side, heals and caster scattered and melee gettin the mark, middy kills him, the next melee, tanks, heals... while turnin around all the time... funny view...
If everyone else is stacked save for the person who ran away, that fails to be an issue because it will just transfer to the stack as intended. Honestly, though, if it’s on one of the tanks, they can use an immunity through it if they’re a PLD or DRK. I don’t think Holmgang will last long enough, but Living Dead will and Hallowed is Hallowed. People generally don’t run away in 10, though. I see it more often in 12 (or any other instance where there’s a stack marker).
Well then.
Went to do Stone Vigil (Hard). Had this Dragoon in the party, who didn't want to use Doom Spike (we had about 6-8 enemies in a pile). First said "it's not up yet" (??), then when pointed out it's a weaponskill and thus always up, said he never uses it, saying "Sonic Thrust" is better (although he did say he'd put it on his bar now). Got no reply when told "yeah Sonic Thrust is better, but only when comboed off of Spike" and "even without Sonic, just Spike is still better than single target on a large pile".
In the end, I never got to see whether he'd actually start using it, as he DC'd mid-pull. After being gone for 2+ minutes (estimate based on a loot timer), we decided to kick him.
...He came back when two of us had already pressed "dismiss". My saying "abort" in chat didn't really help at that point.
That was kinda sad, since he came back in the end. Would have been nice for him to get to finish the dungeon, since he was a first-timer. :(
I've recently had a string of tanks who really like to single pull dungeons. Including one of them being a DRK with no Darkside on at all. Grit only. Then a PLD in Ala Mhigo who single pulled but then for ones like the big spinning... idk what's called. And the gorillas which can still semi hurt etc. Just so many bad tanks recently ;~;
What that dungeon lacks in boss intensity it makes up for in mob mechanics. 90% of wipes happen right out of the box during the first trash pull where you have to do some major aoe dancing or get stuck with statuses. Most tanks dont really take Bardams seriously and just wall-to-wall it even though its not really the best course of action. Dont get me wrong. Some tanks know their business and can handle it but those that just expect the healers to get them thru while they save CDs for bosses are not really ideal for that dungeon unless the dps can help you with status removal. If you know the derp is coming its a little easier but Bardam's is a teensy bit heal heavy overall. The trade off for having face-roll bosses.
I haven't touched Duty Finder in a while now since I don't really need to, so I'll just say that I hate it when high level players in Pagos or Pyros stop spawning the big NMs because they want to leave to do Snow Queen or something which doesn't even have a good reward drop rate.
As Mikeru, I decided to do a few Suzaku EX runs on Party Finder before the 11/26/18 maintenance started.
As a Paladin, I joined a Suzaku EX that had 2 dps players who needed clears. PF description says they made it to enrage with 4% health left. "Duty Complete" requirement flag was on. No problem. I did the same when I got my clear for my Mikeru character as an "alt clear". Party filled in about 10 minutes. Despite a few knockouts of some of my teammates, we cleared it in one attempt and both of the dps got their Suzaku EX clear achievements.
As a Warrior, I joined a Suzaku EX "tome farm" party on the remaining tank slot. "Duty Complete" requirement was also on. When we loaded, a bonus message was up. I examined everyone's geared and gave everyone a benefit of a doubt. This team also cleared it in one attempt, and at a faster time than my previous party too. For this party, one of the two bards got the first time clear achievement.
Also got 2 second chances total in the end for my next WT weekly book (currently have 7 as of now.)
