The server is full, try again later (1017)

It was advertised for Early Access when i pre-ordered and this was not the case. Early access is nothing more than a soft launch and I expect a few hiccups but not being able to even play over a course of multiple hours of downtime. I am sure the Datacenter Enix is using is not fullfilling their contract of how much downtime they are allowed to have over a period of time. I to am frustrated that I even paid for the pre-order which is also a loan that gamers who paid for the game ahead of time to generate revenue to Enix and nothing is even being delivered as promised. Yoshida asked us to come back and for new players to begin a FF adventure to love and recommend it to friends but after this fiasco I have pulled my recommendation for my friends to not bother with FFXIV until these server issues are cleared up and it looks like it wont be by official launch.

People demanding refunds, and the likes, that's just pathetic...

Ive been able to log in and out for times this evening, sure I had to try and get in a few times but it wasnt too bad. I dont think this is a good solution though and proper queues would be great.

Same problem in Midgardsormr... -_-

This isnt just a big MMO launch mate, this is FFXIv's SECOND attempt at a successful chance, which BTW is turning out to be like 1.0 launch... Very disappointing.....

These forums are going to light up like Christmas the closer we get to peak times and eventually launch.

I doesn't matter if you get into the queue or not. SE has imposed a manual threshold on the servers. If that threshold is reached while you're waiting in queue you'll get booted out of it with 1017. Users will see the queue as slots open up in that manual chokehold; but that doesn't guarantee they'll get on.

Finally got into a queue, but I'm not holding my breath, lol.

Sigh. Gilgamesh is same.

I don't even want to play the game anymore...

Just curious to anyone that is actually playing or was able to get in today, how have the instances been running?

I was in que for like 2 min then was removed from que.. Now back at the server full BS

Tried to log in, got message saying I was 25th in the queue... then 1017 error. Here's an idea... place the same login limitations on your JP data center too.

Still 1017 on Exodus.

Why is it only on NA/EU servers?
Gething these errors from saterday evening, hope they fix this bifore tomorrow

That changes about, nothing... The server population needs to be balanced or else you'll end up with a lot of near empty servers. It is like that with all MMO launches.

The thing I don't understand is why Japan has the same amount of servers as US and EU combined. It is no wonder why they don't have any of these problems.

after trying so hard to get to my EU Ragnarok server just went in some random one....

Ragnarok is EU server hate to see US players there >< last thing I want is it get clogged by US players....

Same problem for me in Midguardsormr. No queue, just have to keep retrying??? So annoying.

And yet their servers still allow people to create new characters and log in with no problems. well most of them.

At this point I would settle for just having my character permanently moved to a JP server and left there.

But when our servers are screwed we jump on JP servers just to play and their servers stay up. Seems like a lot more is going on then just amount of servers.. I feel like they are running old ass ffxi servers for our NA servers.. >_> While the brand new ones went to JP servers.

So yesterday it took me 10 hours to get in. After I got in I decided like some others to just AFK over night cause fuck, it's MY time to play. So I did. Now that I got disconnected for one second, bam, 1017. Square enix, your game is now launched. and still with beta issues? You have to be kidding. Seriouslly, get your shit together. More servers and free character transfers. I'm really tired of this shit.

Something must be happening, I am seeing way more people than when they start this throttling yesterday. Just got in about 15mins ago by the way.

SMH...I'd be content to if I was put into a different world/server.

it seems to me if the servers couldn't handle a pop over a certain amount then they shouldn't have allowed more accounts to create a toon on a server then the server allows.If the server can only handle 1000 ppl(random number).Then SE should have allowed only a thousand accounts to make toons on a server per each server.At the very least SE should consider investing in bigger servers.Or at the very least invest in opening up some more servers.Don't get me wrong love the game and I get that a mmo at launch will go through growing pains.But official launch is tomorrow and alot of ppl are already angry cause they can't even play cause the servers are full.Another option is to add a auto log off feature.Most of the space is getting taken up by ppl that stay logged in when they are not playing.ppl that won't be playing til around 1am est.So why allow these ppl to clog the servers and keep pl that want to play now from playing.It's frustrating that I have to wait til 3 in the morning to play.When I can't do that during a week night because like most adults I have to work and will be sleeping at that hour.And it's not fair that I'm going to be paying 15 bucks a month and only get to play it on my one day off a week.

im just tired of no Que and only being able to play after midnight PST otherwise getting 1017 for hours. im also tired of being forced to play on the JP servers since the only ones that ever go down are the NA/EU servers. just fix the damn problem or at least let us on our mains hell ill craft, gather, do fates instead of progressing in story if i have to i just want to play my character.

Honestly they should have invested in separating EU and NA servers. There's no way that Japanese servers for one country are seeing the level of population that the NA/EU servers are seeing (which is probably why they keep working and we keep dying or hitting population caps.)
